West of helsinki a lake area by the name of lohja.
They were best buddies in there late 60’s.
Details still being sorted but looks like they tried to cut across the center of the lake,
    to save time.
    RIP

tragic news. Unfortunately, it happens every year across the ice belt.

My wife’s dad is 74 and stops for coffee most every morning. He’s one to go out on ice as soon as possible. He’s been ice fishing for a long time so we try not to be to concerned but the thought is always there this time of the year. If he fails to show up two days in a row then the worrying starts in full gear. These guys were in their 60’s and he’s in his 70’s – even though they may be experienced and know the area the unexpected can still happen. (
