He’s off to a brutal start. Had a good year last year, and they liked his analytics and “swing angle”. Turns out analytics/swing angle doesn’t matter much if you can’t make good contact, he’s 3-44 (.070) this year.
He’ll be okay. About a week ago he was just missing and was hitting balls hard but right at people. Seems to have fallen off again lately. The guy has never hit for average so if you were thinking he was going to get a hit every night you’re mistaken. He’s there for two things, HRs and RBIs, two things admittedly, he doesn’t have much of yet. They will come.
Personally, Im not worried about him. He didnt get many ABs during the spring, and all these power hitters have streaks like this. I think once he gets one, he will get a bunch.

I’m in agreement with those who aren’t worried yet. I was at a game a week ago where he tattoo’d the ball every at-bat, they just ended up in outs every time. Stat sheets may show an 0-4 game but when you’re hitting hard line drives in a lot of cases you don’t have much to fix, the hits will start falling (I also hope).
He will end up as what he historically is. 20-25 homeruns and a bunch of strikeouts. Sano and Buxton are the guys to worry about. Sano looks like a .220 hitter with 25 hr’s and 200+ strikeouts to me. Lets see how things are looking in another month.
