Looking at that list looks like Twins are right in the middle of the pack.Yep pretty much! Its impressive how good the Orioles are with how little they spend.
Can you imagine the group here if the Twins loss 100 games all those years just to get the high picks. People here would lose their minds.

BrittmanPosts: 2010Walleye Man42Posts: 197August 7, 2024 at 2:14 pm #2284498Joe Ryan left in 3rd inning today with apparent arm injury. Hopefully not serious but are starter depth is really going to be tested now.
August 8, 2024 at 11:53 am #2284582Ya that was a great pick up he will be a huge asset down the stretch. Especially if he can always throw around 45% strikes.
August 8, 2024 at 9:59 pm #2284689This front office makes Terry Ryan look like executive of the year!
Sometimes the best trades are the ones that you don’t make. Hey but Richards has no history of arm issues at least?
Unfortunately this team did not need relief pitching but a competent starter. This spectacular FO must still be waiting for Bigperm Paddack to save the season? LMFAO
FryDog62Posts: 3696August 9, 2024 at 6:40 am #2284711From the Twins web site:
“Buxton, Correa and Royce Lewis, three of Minnesota’s most important hitters, have only been in the starting lineup together 17 times this season.”
That puts it in a little perspective –
BrittmanPosts: 2010August 9, 2024 at 8:12 am #2284724It is showtime starting this evening … better have the A game on.
Brad DimondPosts: 1486August 9, 2024 at 12:46 pm #2284804Joe Ryan likely done for the season, strained teres major muscle (never heard of it before, back of the shoulder). Brock Stewart having shoulder surgery, done for the season. Brooks Lee on the DL with biceps tendinitis. Injuries continue to pile up.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 23299August 9, 2024 at 1:17 pm #2284808They really need to look at their training staff and offseason/inseason prep to figure this out because these injuries are getting ridiculous. Kinda like when the Vikings had a rash of injuries and then Eric Sugarman got canned. Its been better since, but yes injuries do happen.

Exactly how do you know a different manager would put the team in a better position? Everyone loves to put their hindsight 20/20 on a particular or multiple moves with no real way to prove the decision that was made was in fact the wrong decision.
For Christ Sakes they’re 4th best in the AL, and like FryDog said, their 3 “best” players have played 17 games together.
August 9, 2024 at 7:26 pm #2284838What channel are they on tonight. Score guide says BSN and MLB tv I got both and it ain’t on.

August 9, 2024 at 9:03 pm #2284846Twins led 2-0
Naylor hits 3 run homerun Cleveland back in front 3-2.
Wallner answers with 3 run homerun. Twins lead 5-3 after 6.August 9, 2024 at 9:40 pm #2284847Gonna really put Richard’s in again. Jax barely threw in the 1st game
BrittmanPosts: 2010August 10, 2024 at 7:07 am #2284860Weekend games in this series should be fun. Twins can be in first or fall further behind. Stay tune.
August 10, 2024 at 8:25 pm #2284900Joe Ryan likely done for the season, strained teres major muscle (never heard of it before, back of the shoulder). Brock Stewart having shoulder surgery, done for the season. Brooks Lee on the DL with biceps tendinitis. Injuries continue to pile up.
Brock was unhittable last year and if true that is a HUGE loss but Alcala has stepped up. Joe is as reliable as it gets but next man up. Hope Festa is ready to grow up fast? He has definitely passed the eye test. Got to do what they can to make sure they get healthy in a few weeks for the stretch run tho.
BrittmanPosts: 2010August 13, 2024 at 10:06 pm #2285399Zebby Matthews was pitching Cedar Rapids A ball to start the 2024 season. Quite the progression for a young man born in 2000.
Twins bats alive tonight.
August 13, 2024 at 11:04 pm #2285401Quite the progression for a young man born in 2020.
Wow! That is quite the progression for anyone, let alone a 4-year-old!
August 14, 2024 at 7:34 am #2285410This 4 year old looked great last night. Maybe the organization has turned a corner and can finally develop some pitching? Festa and Mathews were both late round picks and they don’t fall into the pitch to contact mold of yesteryear. Both guys throw 96 plus with some good looking complimentary pitches.
There is going to be a logjam in the infield once Correa is back. Rocky will have some difficult decisions to make. One he doesn’t need to make is the gold glove 38 year old DH that plays first
BrittmanPosts: 2010August 14, 2024 at 8:01 am #2285416OK … edited 2000.
Wallner and Miranda trying their best to stay in the bigs… a little competition should be good …
The development of these late round draft picks I suppose validates the Twins position of not drafting pitchers very often in the 1st or early rounds.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 23299August 14, 2024 at 8:03 am #2285417They arent going to be fully healthy that is for sure, but if they could get Correa back that would be huge. Watched some of the game and I hadnt heard of this pitcher until the other day but what I read about him is that he was rocketing up the minor leagues and has great control and some heat too. Seemed to perform pretty dang well for a first outing but all that run support definitely helped.
August 14, 2024 at 8:10 am #2285419The last player to go from Single A to the bigs in same season was the great Randy Dobnak himself in 2019. This kid does a have some upside, mid to upper 90s fastball but has 3-4 other pitches to go with it plus he has only walked 7 batters all season.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 23299August 14, 2024 at 8:34 am #2285427he has only walked 7 batters all season.
That was the most interesting stat I was reading about him.
