Twins starting staff leads MLB in quality starts with 63. Thats why they are in first place.

Talk about a whirlwind of emotions in 2 pitches, Kepler hits into a double play and then Jeffers jacks a 2 run homer the next pitch…

maybe they can play with the Rangers but I doubt it in a 7 game series. I cannot believe they did not get an offer they could not refuse for Sonny at the deadline. If the guy could just get some run support he would be a cy young frontrunner in the AL.
With Rocky booted, hopefully they let him finish? I do not trust Thielbar at all.
Anybody know any updates on Stewart? they need him back big time!

Anybody who wants to see what the line-up would look like when they are hitting the ball check out last nights 12-2 win box score.
The only o fer was in center field.

August 26th and they are still in first place. Plenty of good seats left on the band wagon for those getting ready to jump on.

I don’t think they would’ve traded him unless it was for Otahni. jester

No point in trading him now when he’s still pitching at an elite level and the bats seem to have finally woken up.

Stewart is just a journeyman arm. He will do well a couple of games but will also get hit around some. The savior for the bullpen will be the bats. If they start hitting the ball, taking some walks and not strike out they will be fine. The trifecta of Wallner, Julian & Lewis will be critical heading down the stretch.

Problem all year has been one offensive outburst every 2 to 3 weeks then the bats hibernate.

They are eighth in the majors in runs scored since the all star break so hopefully they are going to stay this way.

Well we will see if Ryan is right again otherwise he’s going to get lit up by this squad.

Well then. Struck out the side in the first with a lot of swings and misses on the fastball. Hopefully it keeps going that way.

Kepler & Correas relay to the plate saved Ryan from a ugly second. Garver goes deep again for Texas. Almost bought a ticket to see Max pitch tonight.

Don’t complain about Rocco taking Ryan out of a 1-1 game after 5 inning. Joe was tired walking over to Target Field from St. Paul for his start.
Thielbar set that pitch on a tee and Garcia didn’t miss it. A bit of hot dogging with the bat flip. He deserves one in the ribs for that but alas it won’t happen. frown

They put one in Jeffers’ last night. Might as well get em back. I hate the bat flipping. If they are going to call that ok than getting drilled in the back the next at bat should be ok also.

Vasquez is earning his money today. Time to win it.

They plunked Jeffers because of his major bat flip Thursday night. After they hit Jeffers the ump should’ve warned both dugouts. Would have prevented Gray hitting Garver and the bench clearing.

Nothing wrong with hitting Garver. Clearing the benches is good for stretching the muscles out. Nobody was gonna get hurt. Lots of frustration on the Rangers part as they are gagging the division away with this losing streak.

Bet Rocco wishes he hadn’t burned Pagan in the 7th.

Had he nursed an extra (6th) inning out of Ryan he could of run Thielbar in the 7th, Jax in the 8th (where he belongs) and Duran in the 9th. He still would have Pagan.

Does someone have to win the AL Central?

The Twins have the starting pitching, but with their often dormant bats and manager who is keen for snatching defeat from jaws of victory…I just can’t see them threatening to win a playoff series.

History says pitching wins play-off series. Twins, barring major injuries have that pitching. What is 100% certain is if they don’t win the division they won’t be in the play-offs.

They gagged this one away, Texas didn’t earn the win they were given the win. That said Bochey was smart enough to ride his horse as long as he could.

I have to admit Dutch, I am pretty impressed. I have never known anyone that has driven the band wagon or has as much input on a team that he does not actually watch.

i been watching all year and this is a really frustrating first place team. starting pitching is really good. bats are very hit or miss. Stewart was absolutely unhittable anytime he got the ball, no journeyman here.
if playoff games are tight and they have to rely on Pagan, Thielbar or Jax, good luck!
    they need Stewart bad!

Hoping we can get Kiriloff or Buxton back producing so I don’t have to watch another Gallo at bat. 1 for 17 the last 7 games he’s played with 12 K.

Big comeback today by the Twinks. They trailed 5-0. They are now in the bottom of the 10th playing softball rules. 5-5 tie.
