I’m not putting too much heat on Wallner for not making that play. I’m not sure Kepler makes that play either. Wallner has been much better than advertised in the outfield so far. Earlier this year they were saying he’d have a hard time finding a position in the field with the big club because he wasn’t good anywhere. He’s already made at least a handful of great plays in the outfield.

I just watched the Wallner play a few times. He wasn’t able to recover from not the best route to the ball. It would have been a very good catch. I think going back to the wall is the hardest play for an outfielder. Wallner’s made some great plays in front of him, plus he’s got the ~97 mph average throw speed going for him.
No way Kepler makes that play.

On this team if he hits they will find a spot for him.

I think Keuchel benefited quite a bit from Diaz’s performance.

If you are getting those pitches called a strike, why wouldn’t you keep working that part of the zone ?

To me it speaks highly of Keuchel recognizing it and continuing to work it.

    I love that graphic Netguy.
I think for me is that when a strike is called it seems like most every time the next pitch he puts there is called a ball. It’s the inconsistency thing that is hardest. And it DOES impac tthe games.
I have always shied away from electronic umping but they have made the case for themselves the last couple of years.
Seems to me this is WHAT they do for a living so should be more on consistency.
    Just my humble opinion.

I would too. The graphic was to show how bad Diaz is/was not to criticize Keuchel. On Friday’s game I saw Diaz was at second and thought with the umpire rotation, Sunday’s game would be interesting. He didn’t disappoint.
Angel Hernandez may be worse!! shock

I hate the idea of robo ump but this year the strike zones have been horrible.

facing a lefty which we all know is the Twins kryptonite……heard the Buck truck is going to park in center when he gets back?

he should have fresh wheels with all the time off. and he hasn’t been using his legs much this year, mostly to walk up to the plate and then back to the dugout.

The DH experiment has been a failure. Buxton is batting .207 and still misses a pile of games due to injury (as a DH!!!). If the Twins want to win, he’s gotta be in CF. If he gets hurt, at least it was while he was in a position that had the most potential to help the team. Being a below average often injured DH robs the team of lineup flexibility

A 6th inning of basically blooper singles has given the Brew Crew a 4 run lead.

Ober was cruising. No reason to take him out.

Rockhead blows another one. That’s around 10 games he’s single handedly lost for this team.

Ober must of hit his limit. 78 pitches. Maybe he is getting him ready to pitch a couple of innings in the playoffs.

Yes Bucky, should have done that much earlier. Play him. If he breaks, put him on IR. At least have an absolute rather than the day to day BS. If he can run the bases, steal the bases, pick up his teammate and hug him and DH, why can’t he play?

What exactly is Buxton’s injury? Not bilateral leg weakness, I hope? Is it his knee that he hurt early last year that’s never healed. If it is can’t he have it surgically repaired? I’m no orthopedic M.D. and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night!!

Rocco’s excuse postgame was complete BS. He said they weren’t concerned with pitch count but then later said Ober has never pitched more innings in a season than this year so they are trying to save him. How the hell do you think he’ll ever handle more innings in a season if you never let him do it???

    These guys are idiots.

the Twins bullpen this month has not been good. I think Rocco has started to wear them down.

Go back to spring training and it was mentioned here that they would burn the bullpen by the end of July.

It’s what Rocco is known for much like windmill is known for taking foolish chances.

Every time I watch a game the bullpen butchers it.

I haven’t watched a game since dumping Midco. Is China Doll back with the team yet? While he can be a impact player they are still in first place without him!

Interesting that the White Sux dumped their GM and VP of baseball ops but kept their manager. If this was college football PJ would be rumored to be the leading candidate.
