IF he was the voice of the Orioles that would get him suspended.

so who is ready to apologize to Rocky for not giving up on Emilio? couldn’t give him away last season and earlier this year and now he is the 8th inning guy. looks like the same guy grooving fastballs but for some reason they are not hitting them now?????

schedule is looking super favorable coming up so they “should” be able to extend their lead. now they need to get healthy for the stretch run

August 13 and still in first place. Still room for all the bandwagon jumpers.

Ive always loved and watched the Twins pretty religiously. Until they change coaches or something im having a hard time turning them on lately. How do you get a winning streak going then lose 3 in a row to Detroilet and get shut out in two of them.

To me, it’s setting up very nicely to extend the post-season loss streak.

Is this team better or worse record wise than ’87?
Does this team have more pitching than the ’87 team?

Good thing football is starting for you guys. You know, the team that has never won a Super Bowl. Pay up, they are pedaling the Purple Kool-Aid again this year.

me and the Twins have a toxic relationship. i will watch them here and there until NFL season starts. love the purple too but i have low expectations for every pro MN franchise.
i hope they win the central but you would be foolhardy to tell me this club has a chance to win a series against Texas, Houston or any East team. for their sake lets hope the Tigers don’t get in as a wild card either!

LOL the longest post season losing streak has to continue. That’s assuming they can win this terrible division.

Twinks are on pace to win 2 less games than the ’87 team. The ’87 team had 2 stud starters. This team has 2 stud starters. If the bats come around they will be just fine. Home games make a big difference in the play-offs, the Achilles heel may be that the ’87 team had a manager and this one doesn’t.

Anybody here really afraid of the Orioles, Red Sox or Yankees? Houston….they can play with them. Rays…good but certainly beatable. Seattle and Texas are the teams to avoid.

They might have a shot against the O’s.

5% chance beating Boston, NY, Houston, Tampa or Texas.

i will give you great odds if you want to entertain Dutch

Just enjoy the last 3 wins !

A healthy Twins line up can be pretty tenuous to face.

That pitching staff is fun to watch when they are in their grove.

I would hope for a fall peak and not a mid-summer peak and fade.

Yup, keep the foot to the pedal. ANY team can get their bats hot at any time – just needs to be the right time for THIS team. I think the other pieces are in place if they can all put it together at the same time. LOVE watching the new kids play. Friggin Wallner hit a bomb yesterday. Love the base stealing and love the “No Buxton’ distraction even more.

What’s the excuse going to be to keep Buxton out of the lineup?

It’ll be all done the second week of October anyway. Win this central division? Whoop-de-f’ing-do. Too many young players won’t produce under the tremendous pressure of the first round of the playoffs. lol

Sold why don’t the Wilfs just fold the Viking franchise. They never win anything.

Cabrera still having fun out there. Love to see it. Guy has been a load against the Twins and continuing to do it. Just grounded out to Lewis at third on a nice play and all smiles to the dugout.

When I checked this morning the Twinks had a 5 game lead over the Indians and were 4 games over .500

Meh. They should be ahead by 10+ games. Will still lose in the first round of the playoffs.
How many errors has Polanco made at third base. Don’t know why Lewis wasn’t there last night.

What does being 10 games ahead do? As long as they win the division it doesn’t matter if it’s by 1 game or 20. Winning the division by 20 games would make the fans feel better but it won’t affect the way the team plays in the play-offs. 1987 showed us that.

Is it just me or did anybody else think Wallner put kind of a pisspoor effort on the double off the wall? Pitcher has a late perfect game going and you dont jump into the wall to try and catch that? It was definitely catchable…

Keuchel is all or nothing. The guy still knows how to pitch. All depends on his command. If it’s off he is getting crushed. Nice to see the pen finally close one out.

Winning more games in the regular season gives them a chance to not play a wild card game in the first round. Best pitchers would be ready for round two of the playoffs.
Right now the wild card teams are Tampa Bay, Houston and Seattle. Twins records against them this year are 0-3, 3-4 and 4-2, respectively.

Yeah, it wasn’t much of an effort. Doesn’t look like he’s comfortable going up against the wall much like Kepler. Kepler’s made some catches against the wall this year but he doesn’t look comfortable doing it.

Kepler has the overhanging ledge to deal with. If he gets to the wall to soon and the ball hits that ledge it could be a triple or inside the park HR.

Perhaps catchable but it would have been an insane catch. He would have had to have a perfect bead on it and lept at the perfect time.
