Coming out of the All-Star break, here are the Twins’ next 6 series:
    @ A’s
    @ Mariners
    White Sox
    Mariners
    @ Royals
    @ Cardinals
Seattle is 45-44. All the other teams are awful.

What do we know about this Jenkins kid? Looks like he’s a big left handed power hitter

Can’t imagine a more embarrassing and deflating way to enter the all-star break. What a train wreck.

it was an elite top 5 player draft and the Twins got one of them (thanks to some lottery luck).

He was the only high schooler of the top 5 so he’s likely 2 years farther away from making the big league…

He projects very similar to Alex Kirillof…

What a brutal weekend. No hitting, terrible pitching and terrible strike zones.

Top high school player in the draft. Power hitting OF that projects at a corner OF spot. Can hit for average and has power to all fields.

Charlee Soto and Tanner Hall (the top pitching picks the Twins made) sound promising as well. Soto is a high schooler that throws 95-98 with great stuff, and Hall is a two time pitcher of the year in the Sun Belt Conference with Southern Miss. Joe Ryan type, low 90s fastball but plus changeup and slider and by all accounts “knows how to pitch without relying on velocity”.

We know the twins will sell promise around him being part of the next core.

They wouldn’t have been able to get anyone near his talent level but they got lucky with the first year of the new lottery. Moved from 13 to 5 if I remember right. The kid could be really good. I’m not big on drafting high schoolers because they have no clue what an 18 year old kid will turn into, but this kid has a good shot at being a cornerstone player if our developmental team doesn’t destroy him.

Thanks Werm, still wish the 6 were:
    1. Royals
    2. Royals
    3. Royals
    4. Royals
    5. Royals
    oh. and why not …
    6. The Royals!

LOL they could probably win 100 games if they played the Royals more.

Such a crapshoot with the MLB draft, striking to go back and look at even just the top 10 picks from the last 20 years. Plenty of stars but probably half never made it or were very average. Delmon Young went #1 overall and Dylan Bundy #4 for instance.

It really is. Only think you can do is get the highest rated/ranked player that you have scouted and like. I’m more ok with drafting high school position players than high school pitchers. I think this was the best pick they could’ve made in this draft with how it shook out. Now they have to get him to the bigs which is the bigger challenge.

Is there any analytics (for lack of a better term) of MLB teams and their development of draftees? Would like to know where the Twinkies stack up.

Delmon talent wise was a star or could have been. His brain mass couldn’t match his muscle mass.

Can’t imagine it’s great. One thing you have to give the Yankees even during their A-Rod days was the amount of homegrown talent they had. Of course, they bought plenty extra but Jeter, Cano, Posada, Rivera, Pettitte, Bernie Williams, Soriano, now Judge all home grown.

The A’s are horrible. They should win 11 or 12 of the next 15 with the teams they are playing. Wallner called up today too.

I can’t wait for Byron to hit another homer so we can hear how great he is. coffee

Farmer is smacking it pretty good tho.

Well that was a roller coaster. Correa starting to look like himself finally. Up to .233 and driving in runs.

I have liked Farmer all season and wished he had gotten to play more. He’s nothing special but just plays solid. Better than most of our guys can say. Disappointing start for Lopez after a few good ones.

don’t worry….Bremer will let you know how great he is on a sac fly!

Farmboy might be my favorite signing by the GM’s. no chains, no flair just a blue collar fella who shows up and gets Shhhhh done.

China Doll is pretty worthless these days….time to DL him and give his swings to somebody who might actually be able to touch the ball.

Probably 90% the A’s. Nice to score some runs though.

Think I heard the Twins are 38-11 when scoring 4 runs. 4! That’s crazy.
