This could be an ugly series for the Twins. Gleeman put the over/under on runs scored by the Braves at 25 for the series! jester

I’ll take the under. But the Braves will still take the series.

They hung with them pretty good for as long as Gray could go.

You know, after Acuna hit that ball 800+ feet off Pagan, I’d fully support Sonny Gray screaming and throwing the Gatorade jug on the dugout floor and heading to the clubhouse.

    Any rules guru’s here?

Would Buxton be allowed to use a cane or walker if he somehow got on base?

Ol Rocco couldn’t get down the tunnel fast enough after China Doll whiffed to end the game.

so much for trying to be positive…..Sonny is having a Cy young season but no run support. they got no chance against rosters like the Braves. it’s never zero but pretty dang close.

The Braves pitchers are smart enough to never throw a strike if the Twins will swing at anything.

GM’s trying to save face after that pathetic trade of Rogers. plenty of scrub relievers in St. Paul that deserve his innings. he might be the worst pitcher i have ever seen in my entire life?

You’ve a real short memory. Pagan isn’t even the worse in the Rocco era.

Rogers hasn’t had a season with an era under 4.00 since leaving the Twins. That’s a poor example of bad move by this regime, especially when there are so many glaring examples.

I’d say Pagan is on Colome level at this point.

Colome killed the season right when it started. Pagan has lost games but he hasn’t killed a season yet.

I’d say he’s had a hand in killing the last two. At least Colome was only one.

Mr. Ryan, meet the Atlanta Braves, they play good baseball.

thing is Colome was once pretty good and just fell off a cliff. Pagan was never good aside from a fluke season in Seattle. i actually can think of one Twin in the last 5 or so years that was worst….remember Matt Shoemaker?

Colorado gave up 25 to the Angels.
LSU puts up 20 in the college world series.
Twinkies only give up 6 in Hotlanta…….moral victory?

Stewart is gone for 2 weeks. Bullpen will start it’s usual meltdown unless the starters can go 6 every night.

They were talking on the radio … here are some comments that I found interesting and/or agreed with …

my numbers are not exact … but Twins have scored 2 runs or less in 37% of the games played this season. They won just 5 of those games.

They left 10 runners in scoring position last night.

Gray is a fastball pitcher and Atlanta is the best fast ball hitting team in the MLB (2023). As good as the scouting was for Boston … it was pathetic for Atlanta.

Twins coaching staff appears to be very poor at making in game adjustments or the players are poor at executing on adjustments or both.

Gray didn’t pitch last night. Ryan did. And yes he’s a fastball pitcher and got crushed. They probably make more in game adjustments than most teams, problem is they always seem to be the wrong ones.

Can’t read too much into this series. Atlanta is just that good. They’ve been doing this to teams and good pitchers all season. And the Twins are a 500 team. Unless they bring in two guys that can play the corner outfield positions and actually hit, I don’t see much changing.

Pretty nice start from Maeda today….Doesn’t matter when the offense gets dominated again, but good sign for Maeda.

Well Buxton should have never gone to home on that ground ball and we would have likely gotten a run in that inning because I think there was no outs or 1 out at the time. That was dumb. He had no chance even with his speed.

That’s the Twins way. The Contact Play…..Literally the most flawed strategy in baseball.

Yeah it was terrible. He had a good lead, but no chance.
