I know. Maybe this is a better lineup than their normal starters because the scrubs just try to hit singles.

Perkins is so amazed by these guys that can hit it the other way and how it actually works out. He must’ve forgotten the teams he played for….

A baseball observation. It seems that the batters are all taking their timeout with 2 strikes. I’m sure it’s done to take a deep breath and try and figure out what the pitcher will be throwing next. I think the timeout actually helps the pitcher more. They can take a couple extra breaths and throw the pitch they believe in the most. I think it’s backfiring on the hitters.

    Just my observation.

2nd observation….Twins have no chance of beating Brown tonight.

Brown???? never heard of him. Is he good? He looked kind of cocky to me the first time through the order. Oops I hope he enjoyed some humble pie dished up by Louie.

NICE outing by Varland. Brown was NOT good!

    3 pitches
    2 home runs……….
Why didn’t he ride Varland batter by batter in the 8Th?
    Lopez sucks

Not sure but make Lopez finish the $hitshow he started. This guy needs to be held responsible!

Only 100 more games to go. Looks like they can play with the big boys with a tough early schedule. Doesn’t get easier in June so I expect marathon not sprint. We will see how they fare in late summer? Lots of time to $hit the bed but they look too good to do that.

Oh yeah…….Go Louie! Great kid need more like him

I was really hoping they would lose after they pulled Varland. Give the kid a chance to finish what he started. After the 2nd HR I was rooting for the Astros to comeback and Rocco to get his walking papers.

Why? The kid has never even thrown 100 innings in a season. This was one I actually agreed with. Take him out after a great start, let him come out after not giving up a run, don’t let him have the chance of coming out after giving up a couple runs and save his arm a bit for later in the season. He will have a longer leash as the year goes on. If they lose another pitcher we are down to arms we do not want to see on the Twins this season.

I just don’t want to listen to Bremer anymore.

    Holy crap…Kepler did something!

Buxton and Correa should take notes from Kirilloff and Lewis. Maybe they’d get over .225 if they started using their hitting approach.

I’m so sick and tired of Rocco and staff pulling players out of the game for the smallest issues…. I put some of that on the players too though..

A Twins player coughs out on the field and Rocco and the trainers run out to check on him and eventually pulling him out of the game….

Meanwhile an NHL player get his face cut by skate, gets 75+ stitches in the trainers room and is back on the ice 15 minutes later…

Worthless Willie for the win! good thing guys like Royce and these other scrubs can bail out the big dogs. Lopez has been a disappointment so far given what they gave up and how well the rest of the starters have pitched. there is an argument early that he is the 4th best in the rotation…..hope he figures it out?

Wow. The one time I turn it off…. jester

I think Lopez will be fine. He was really good tonight until he got dinked to death in the 6th. As for Willy Castro, I can’t believe it, but he’s been one of their best hitters over the last month.

Oh, and Lewis does it again….

I can’t see any argument that he’s the 4th best, even at full strength he is near the top.
I really can’t understand the short memory of some concerning the pitching staff as compared to even as recently as last year. Without this years starters this team would look a lot like the Oakland A’s.

I completely agree Dutch. He had a “rough stretch” over the last month and half but was still only giving up 3-4 runs a game. A rough stretch for a Twins’ starter over the last ten years was 6-7 runs per start. Last night he was great except for the sixth when he lost his location a bit. And even then the Indians were getting really weak hits. The staff is second in baseball in ERA.

Lopez has been pretty solid all year. One thing I have noticed though with all these pitchers is man do they throw some heat. I dont ever remember this many pitchers throwing mid to upper 90’s and dont get me started on Duran.

It is pretty nuts. I think it does directly correlate with not letting them throw 100 pitches because they know these guys arms don’t last throwing this hard.

No short memory as I have never watched Lopez until this year. He will probably figure as a top of the order arm but early on Gray and Ryan are pitching much better and an argument can be had with Ober and Varland early on. But yes this rotation is one of the best in a long long time.

June 4th and the Twins lead the division yet they can’t hit. Makes a person wonder what the team would look like with Arraez & Urshela. Arraez is still flirting with .400 after going 5-5 yesterday. Urshela is 5th in the AL with a .310 average. I wouldn’t redo the Arraez deal as I think the Twins needed a big move for pitching. The Urshela move I was against from the beginning. He had a good year last year and brought as much as Farmer does although at the time the Twins didn’t have Correa yet.

Time for Rocco to settle on a starting 8 and trot the same guys out there game after game. There was zero excuse for Kirilloff not starting yesterday. He’s not hurt, he’s not tired, he needs to play.

It wouldn’t look that much different. 1 guy isn’t going to make the rest of the lineup hit.

Yeah we saw how the offense was when he was here. Not much better. They just don’t have guys that drive in runs because all they can do is HR or K.

So this offense is just terrible. Solano Kepler Jeffers. 3 4 and 5. Yuck

Yeah this lineup they are throwing out right now is a joke. It’s just not not competitive at all.

Not sure if anyone else saw this play because it was such a boring game, but Royce Lewis almost broke his neck last night. Just google Royce Lewis and the video should come up.

And Rockhead’s postgame interview about it just proves he lives on another planet. He goes “Yeah it sounded like he landed on his shoulder”. Uh…..No he landed on his freaking head you idiot!
