Maeda is just a guy, a 3 at best, a reliever at worse. He will get knocked around today.

His numbers say otherwise but ok. I don’t think he gets knocked around today. If he struggles it’s because he walks a bunch of people.

First maintenance day for Buxton today. If he plays four out of every five days that will be a success.

Maeda is looking fairly good so far. 4 Ks already.

I’m happy with it so far. One bad pitch that got tattooed.

Well, crap. That’s not the ending I wanted to see. Hopefully it was just a tweak and nothing serious.

Oh for god sakes, you bring in PAGAN?????

Let’s just hope he’s not actually hurt and he can keep it going.

Held my breath for two innings but he was OK. Still cannot rely on him.

Yeah I can’t watch him. Like Dark Star used to say when Liriano would pitch. If he’s on he’s going to be great, but if he’s not, get the women and children out of the first 10 rows in left field.

    Pagan however, is never on.

So is he officially done playing the field? I can’t really stand to follow him and his days off/injuries/DH role very closely.

No he will play in the field. From what I’ve read, they are trying to get him through the colder weather and keeping him healthy early this season by DH’ing him. Then they will start playing him in the field more. I wouldn’t expect to see him playing everyday in CF though. Maybe if he stays healthy for the majority of the season they will feel more comfortable doing that, but we all know the probability of him doing that.

Sounds like Maeda is fine. Expected to make his next start. Good news and a great first step for his comeback.

Not a bad loss for the twins today. Maeda looked good.

Twins bench coach was just on WCCO. He said no timeline for getting Buxton in center. He said he is running the bases great and accelerating faster than normal. He’ll still hurt himself running the bases.

Maeda looked very good, but he was pulled because he was “fatigued”? Baldelli left him in too long?? lol I hope nothing long term happened but we’ll see where that chapter of the Twins 2023 saga goes.

I think Maeda is fine. He was sitting on the bench and laughing with his teammates after he came back from the locker room. He did finish 6 innings didnt he? That is longer than most starters have been given a leash in recent years. 1-0 loss to that pitcher is a pretty dang good effort. That dude has amazing stuff.

He went 5 and a 1/3. Which is what Lopez did. They were worried because the last pitch he threw he started shaking his throwing arm. But they said he was feeling his forearm being fatigued and trying to shake it out. He’s expected to make his next start. I’m looking forward to seeing if Lopez can have another nice game this afternoon.

Nobody but Favline does. Even the writers that usually back everything this team does, don’t understand it.

Larnach with another big hit to tie it up. Nice start by Lopez again.

It was probably already mentioned in this thread, but the pitch timer is probably what’s going to save baseball imo… its awesome how the game moves so smoothly now…. I was a huge baseball fan (had Twins season tickets for a few years) and lost interest the last 2-3 years with the stupid full field shifts and the constant delays in a 4hour long game…. I’ve watched the last 2 games from start to finish and i’m loving baseball again!

Oh and the pitcher we got for Arraez has looked great sofar!

Agree Joe! I have watched more baseball so far this year than the last 2 years combined.

Yeah it’s the best change they’ve made in a long time. Theilbar blows it for us today. That was a little surprising. He’s been pretty darn good for a year plus. We will see how they fair against a legit team this weekend.

Thielbar and Jax have both been solid in the past, surprised both of them stunk it up today. Couldn’t watch or listen, though Rockhead put Pagan in when I heard the score.

Theilbar struck out Arreaz.. thats not easy to do… he then fell victim to the 3 batter rule and got rocked by 2 RH hitters…
