Anyone know why the game is so early today? Just Curious. Fired up the ol interweb and they’re in the 5th inning already at 11:25!

It’s Patriot’s Day in Boston today so it’s tied to that, and probably the marathon.

Pail that 200$ is money in the bank. You should be charging them interest. jester

Second nice start in a row by Bundy and some nice work from the pen today for the most part. Bats woke up a bit. It’s only been two games but I’ll eat crow on Bundy if he keeps this going. I thought he was going to be the worst of the bunch in the rotation.

I never heard of this dude so hard for me to hate. I just have seen enough of guys like Thorpe, Dobnak and Smeltzer to realize it ain’t going to work. Lots of folks laughed at Archer signing too but if the guy still hits mid 90’s at this stage of his career, that ain’t bad. I mean they had 50 year old Rich Hill out there last year.

Dylan Bundy has been in the league for a handful of years. He was highly touted and has always thrown fairly hard and had good K numbers. However his ERA has almost always been above 5. Lots of home runs also. I was not big on that signing at all. I agree that Archer’s velocity is promising. It’s not like his arm has had a lot of work the last few years. jester

Rich Hill pitched for Boston yesterday.

If Bundy keeps throwing all that high off speed stuff, the hitters will get to him.

Tyler Duffey ruins a good start by a Twins pitcher for the third time this year. He is finally getting what he deserves after two years of constantly grooving meatballs over the heart of the plate.

you mean Archer? pitching real well for all that work on his arm and nobody wanted him. Duffey has been on a decline for years so this is not surprising. hoping he would bounce back but that is unlikely. good thing we have Buxt…oh whoops.

Is it just me or does it seem majority of our bullpen throws low 90s (outside of Duran) and all the other bullpens have multiple guys throw 96-97..

Pagan was throwing 96-97 the last time I watched him.

Seems that way but maybe they are ramping up, it’s still early? Even Duran gassing over 100 and he gets hit hard too with professional hitters up there.

They are hitting like .187 as a team or something atrocious like that. I’m no baseball analytics Guru but can’t imagine you can win a bunch of games with a sub 200 avg for the team.

Pagan throws 94-97, Alcala throws 97-100 but he’s hurt, Duran 99-102.

Hitting and a couple bullpen guys has been the problem so far. The rotation is at the top of the league in ERA.

if you like pitching duals, the last few games are for you! hopefully the bats wake up soon! these starters look like they will be in the running for the cy young, so that should end soon?

Dutch you shut the game off too early? looks like we got a closer??????? Pagan definitely made it interesting but this guy did not fold. happy to see some close 1 run games go in the Twins favor for once. i hope the late rally wakes those bats up.

I was referring to Chicago’s defense. The Twins didn’t hit their way to a win they just hit the ball and Chicago booted it. Hey, maybe the pocket protectors will notice that runners equal scoring opportunities. Hmmm, interesting thought. razz

Hi Dutch! Nice to see you here!

Its obvious by who this regime has kept and traded for, that they don’t care about getting runners on base. You have one guy that is elite at getting on base in Arraez and yet they won’t even play him everyday because hit “only” hits .250 against lefties. Well guess what? The right handed bats you put in for him are only hitting .200 FOR THE SEASON!!!!!

    Idiots.

Time to get the brooms out today. Starters are tops in the league for ERA. Who would’ve thought. Bats are waking up a little too.

That loss is on LaRussa, he had a open base for Buxton.

I was sure with the 3-1 count they weren’t going to give him anything to hit. Especially with 1st base open.
Blame goes to Hendrix as well for giving him something to hit on 3-1. But glad to see Buxton coming in clutch twice today!

I agree. I was shocked to see him get pitched to. Glad he made them pay. 3 in 4 in a row and back to .500. It would be pretty cool if this rotation somehow keeps this run going and the bats stay hot. I also think we are getting close to seeing the end of Miguel Sano.

It’s true Dutch. Even the Sano backers like Gleeman and other analytic types that have always defended him because of his OPS have turned on him.

I mean the guy is striking out 3 times a game and can’t even hit meatballs down the pipe.
