Put it in the books dutchy!!

As a matter of fact I’ll go out on a limb and say both teams will advance in the playoffs

Advance IN the playoffs or make it TO the playoffs? I think the latter is likely to occur for both and the Wild. Making it beyond the first round though…not so much.

Windmill Watkins likely cost the Twins a win today. Hung Celestino out to dry – –

of course he did. he has cost them at least 4 games off the top of my head but its ok, just keep doing what your doing no big deal. easily prevented by moving the windmill to 1st base.

    That’s where he came from.

Ok. Time for some more nicknames for Twins coaches. How’ bout Howdy Doody for Rocco with his Okie Dokie, laissez faire, gosh oh darn attitude? And for Maki, I think Fife or Jamie.

Oh and based on yesterday’s performance alone, keep Varland and DFA Archer. Archer can’t even stay on 2 feet in his follow through.

That was perhaps the DUMBEST thing I saw in a while- WHAT was he thinking?!?!? – plus, Celestino is waggling his finger in the air, sees reality and you can see the look on his face “holy shite, I need to run!”

I’ve never seen a pitcher with such little mound composure and pitch command last so long in the big leagues..

The Twins will never go anywhere when they act like they’ve won the World Series when they beat the Yankees. The coaches and brass all say the moves they made should help win the division. TO hell with the division, build a team that will consistently beat the Yankees and then you’ll have something. Oh, wait…, that takes $$$$. Ahhh, Mr. Pohlad???

It takes money, sure. But it also takes a greater emphasis on basic things like base-running, creating scoring opportunities (stealing bases, bunting, not being a worthless piece of garbage when runners are in scoring position), not pulling a starting pitcher who is cruising after 5 innings and 70 pitches because he could face the 3rd-time-through-the-order boogie man, developing young pitchers, etc. The Twins are a middle of the road payroll – more than some teams that consistently perform far better than the Twins, but bad coaching and the hatred for historic baseball fundamentals is more to blame in my opinion.

It also only takes a tiny bit of research to see if the players they are trading for have underlying issues (Paddock, Mahle, etc.).

The Yankees have approximately 4 recognizable names on their entire roster right now, yet they still dominated us. But they stole bases, they took advantage of opportunities, and they have a manager who actually knows a thing or two about baseball.

That base running debacle by Celestino was terrible in the first game of the double header. I couldnt tell if he was sent or went on his own. He was out by a mile. Cost them that game.

He couldn’t believe windmill Watkins was sending him, that’s what happened.

Bad Bundy serving steak tonight! The bats need to step up anyway. Pitching has been carrying this team for far too long……we will see?

I wanted to have hope….. but looking like my initial thoughts at the beginning of the season are coming to fruition. Disappointed but not surprised.

Never understood how more teams don’t consistently tee off on Bundy… like every night. I know he spins the ball, but at that low of velocity, nothing is nasty.

    He’s DFA material too – –

i don’t understand how guys tee off a guy like Megill who hits 100 all the time and drops in a curve to go with that heat? baseball is such a weird game. Bundy is a back of the rotation guy but sometimes looks like an ace without ace material?
still need the bats to contribute and its sad that a rookie like Miranda has to carry the offense so many times with all the injuries

Solidly in 3rd place now. I haven’t seen a word on China Doll. Either he has decided to take the rest of the season off or the pocket protectors have decided he needs the rest. Either way it looks like the team needs to continue without him.
