yeah, just to stand in the box once and see would be fun (provided he didn’t throw at my melon)

Yeah, that was my fear too, there is no way I would be able to get out of the way if he did.

“I was joking with my buddies the other day that I would love to just stand in the batter’s box to see one of those flame throwers. I dont think I’d even see the dang ball. LOL”
    —————————————-

I only faced a couple pitchers in junior college that threw a legit 93-94 mph. All I can remember is that I could hear the ball better than I could see it. I cannot even imagine what a hundo looks like… but yeah, just to stand in the box once and see would be fun (provided he didn’t throw at my melon) shock

96 was tops when I was playing in college. That was fast enough for me….that’s why I’m talking in here and not on TV. rotflol

I can tell my grandkids someday that I hit a 400 foot shot off Brent Wohlers in high school (the year he was the ace of the HS championship team). Of course the rest of the story was that it was a check swing that went foul straight behind the back stop and didn’t land for a good 7-8 seconds. It was a night game in Plainview, they never did find that ball..

Raise your hand if you thought at the beginning of the year Cave would have more Homeruns and RBI’s than the fat kid. grin

Must have pissed Gordon off taking him out last night with the bases loaded. You could see dumb arse Baldeli trying to explain to him why. Guess Nicki proved who’s the dumb arse tonite.

no way! Rocky’s pie chart tells him what to do. good thing we have guys like Nick, Jake, Gio stepping up. Garlick has not hit lefties as well as he did early on but Rocky has a hard time letting it go.

LaRussa stepping away from White Sux due to medical issue. While I hope he is OK my guess is looking at that putrid defensive team of his is the culprit for not feeling well. Couldn’t happen to a better team. yay

Man Ryan needs to find his location. It’s been bad for the last two months.

Twins had a golden opportunity for a huge comeback win tonight. Instead Arreaz bloops out to left and then Correa chops into a double play after having two runners on and zero outs in the bottom of the 9th. Bummer…

Correa statistical is doing what we should expect (within career averages for most categories) but he seems to be nowhere to be found in those clutch spots. I expect more in those situations out of the $30 million dollar man.

And if Gordon hadn’t milked what he thought was a homerun, we would have made it to third and the 8th would have continued.

Pretty much a no brainer…the odds of him being healthy were similar to getting struck by lightning while sitting in a basement.

About the same odds as Buxton playing 100 games.

He might have been standing at home when the throw came back in if he would have ran hard from the get go….. doah

That’s today’s game. Do that ten years ago and you get a 95 mph fastball in the ear hole.

There are a lot of things that have been done on the field that have changed how the game is played. Take away the body armor and see how many of these guys are styling & bat flipping. Take away the DH and see how many pitchers are screaming and pumping their fist with a strikeout. Take away the Posey rule and see how many head first slides you get into home plate.

But we get to start a runner on 2nd base in extra innings. We will soon have bigger bases and hopefully they die first base Pink or Orange.

They might as well elect Rose, Clemons, Bonds & A-Fraud into the hall of fame, they have made a mockery of the game anyway.

and i absolutely love the signing and call up of Billy Hamilton. i can’t believe no other team had room for the fastest man in baseball…..even Rocky couldn’t help himself and called steal signs a bit much but nice to see.
