I think it would be Celestino. He’s not hitting anymore and Gordon has been fairly good in center as well. Gordon has actually been one of their better hitters.

Bundy saves the rotation again. For as bad as he’s been half the time, the other half the time he’s had big win after big win while the rest of the rotation has been garbage.

They don’t have nor have they ever had the pitching to win. It’s a wild card at the very best.
Buxton is terrible, has like 35+ strikeouts in the last 25 games or something like that. He’s hitting a robust .216 for the season. He is letting the pressure of the contract get to him.

in all fairness to Buxy, he never wanted to be the face of this franchise or asked to be labeled the greatest player on the planet by his bonehead manager. he is what he is at this point and that is probably where some of that pressure comes from too. would have a pile more RBI’s if said bonehead let Arraez bat leadoff from day 1 like anyone with a brain would have done. at least now he is playing almost every day so the knee must be feeling better. as streaky as he is, he will probably go on a tear for 3 weeks then back to his typical self. lets hope they add a difference maker or 2 at the deadline but looking around i don’t really see any great arms available that blow me away.

Grandpa is taking us to the saints game tomorrow. Any prospects I should be keeping my eye on? Other than the fat kid of course

Watch the pitchers. Most of them will play a few games for the Twinks the 2nd half as the pitching implodes again.

i believe Wallner got bumped to AAA. hometown kid from forest lake was owning AA and i think he is up there now? tall lefty outfielder much like Kiriloff. i bet he would bring back a talented arm at the major league level.

Wallner for sure. He has about 20 HR between AA and three weeks of AAA. I’m not sure you’ll see him though. He was at the Futures game yesterday and by the way, hit a dong in the first inning. The guy is a beast. Also Spencer Steer. 2b and hitting a ton also. Moved up from AA a month or two ago.

These are the Twins a person comes to expect around here. It’s been a massacre this weekend by the Sux except for when they knocked Lance Lynn around.

This club might not be in contention by the deadline if Falvine don’t get some pitching help in here.

Don’t worry….Maeda is supposed to be ready in August and that will be as good as a trade!

The Twins and Brewers are trending the same direction heading to the All Star break.

I don’t see the Brewers doing anything other than being bounced from the wildcard right away due to inconsistent offense that they did nothing to add to in the off-season. They have a few real good arms, but those guys cannot throw every game nor are guaranteed to always be healthy.

The Twins keep pushing forward year after year with the same approach of having a handful of #3, #4 type guys in the rotation that are injury prone…accented by a mediocre at best bullpen.

^Neither of these recipes are destined for playoff success despite leading their respective divisions.

I predict no playoffs for the Twins. Hope I’m wrong.

Pretty much a lock that the Twins acquire bullpen help before the trade deadline.

Who do you predict they give up – established player on the 40 man, or a prospect(s)?

Who would you dangle as bait?

If only anyone could have guessed at the beginning of the season that a starting 5 of #3 or worse starters, and a depleted bullpen, including trading their closer, wouldn’t work out….thank god they are in a terrible division or they’d be looking up at 2-3 teams in most other divisions right now.

The fat kid plus they also have to many outfielders so they can dump one of those. By the time the deadline rolls around they will be trading starters for prospects. Urshela would be a option, they can move a cheap Miranda to 3rd with Arraez as back-up there. Any catcher. Any starter except Ryan. There aren’t to many untouchables on the team. We need to remember they need to come up with a shortstop for next year also.

Next winter there will be plenty of starters on the scrap heap to choose from again. Sign a bunch of projects for the bullpen and hope you hit on one that doesn’t burn out by August.

    Rinse & repeat.

You wouldn’t get a used bag of baseballs for Sano at this point, no reason even discussing that. Likely Kepler, Urshela, or prospects that go at this point.

And it turned out to be the game winner too.

The American League has now won 9 times in a row and is 21-4 in the last 25 all star games. Talk about lopsided.

Those awards are mostly meaningless, but the guy who tied the game gets the MVP over the guy who won the game?

He gets to start in the ALl Star game but can’t start for us?????
DOn’t care if it IS the All Star game ( great player but should he have been there at all in the first place)? How about somebody who plays every day instead?

Calm down there…….Buxy has been playing fairly regularly these days and seen he is on pace for 120 or so games give or take? higher than the previous guestimate from the team of 100. i think we fans would be happy if that happened but he needs to work on raising his average in the second half. at least draw some walks and be a team player.
