Complain about coach and GM all day. Don’t disagree on ol Rocco, but when your payroll is half of what the top teams are your asking a dentist to do brain surgery.

Twins bullpen didnt even give up a run last night. Things are turning around.

Ha…..that’s the joys of being a lifelong Minnesota sports fan! Even when we are in first place, we can see the collapse coming at some point. I’m still sipping the kool-aid and hoping they address some of their issues or it will be 19 straight post season L’s.
Funny China Doll didn’t break himself in half making that catch. Why does MLB allow teams to have these quirky walls? Somebody is going to get seriously hurt someday.
From Jim Bowden at the Athletic. Writing of possible trade needs and who might work.
Twins (47-38, 4 1/2-game lead in AL Central)
Biggest weakness: Bullpen
Solution: Acquire RHP Jorge López and RHP Félix Bautista in trade with Orioles for RHP Simeon Woods Richardson
The Twins rank 10th in the AL in bullpen ERA at 3.81 and have converted only 18 of 35 save opportunities. If they are going to maintain their lead in the AL Central, they must improve the bullpen before the trade deadline.
The best trade fit for Minnesota to address this weakness is probably the Orioles, who rank fifth in the majors in bullpen ERA at 3.26. The Orioles have done an impressive rebuilding job, but they are likely still two years away from legitimately contending, so there’s little reason to let bullpen arms stand in the way of furthering the rebuild. Therefore, a trade of their closer, Jorge López, and a set-up reliever the caliber of Félix Bautista for a future middle-of-the-rotation starter such as Simeon Woods Richardson makes sense for both teams.
López, 29, has posted a 1.79 ERA in 37 appearances and converted 15 of 19 save opportunities. Bautista, 27, has registered a 1.89 ERA in 36 appearances, with 41 strikeouts in 33 1/3 innings. Woods Richardson, 21, was acquired in the José Berríos trade at last year’s deadline. He is 2-3 this season at Double-A Wichita, where he has a 3.40 ERA and a 1.132 WHIP (allowing seven hits per nine innings) in 11 starts. He’s currently on the injured list.

Sounds like a lop-sided trade… lots of rumors before the trade deadline in 3 weeks..
Bowden tends to throw things against the wall and see what sticks. Those guys are rated by clicks & comments and he gets a lot of both. I don’t see any way Baltimore would do that deal. Richardson hasn’t done anything yet.
I did not have a good feeling when he came out in the ninth. It seems we like to make every game interesting at the end. It would be nice to win a few games where the ninth does not matter. Starters can not go 5 innings lately and that is playing a role with this bullpen.
I was surprised yesterday when they said Duffey hasnt given up a run in just about a month. Like nine straight appearances.

His own guy he put on or a inherited runner?
Thats just what Perkins or Hawkins or Bremer said yesterday that he hadnt given up a run since like June 13th

Most likely his own runners. Inherited obviously go to the pitcher that put them on. I think he’s had one or two he’s given up that were inherited but he has been better.
Big win that we needed. Hopefully some momentum for the White sox coming into town before the all star break. Hopefully we can win the series and put a bigger gap between us.
The shine is starting to come off the Twinks lately. Buxton isn’t hitting his weight. Arraez is slumping, maybe a bit tired. Polanco is heating up, Correa is hanging in there. The starters are beginning to lag and the bullpen except for Jax & Duran is a nightly coin flip. Thankfully Cleveland has their problems and the White Sux are, well the White Sux. Big series before the all star game.
Yeah I think they could use the All Star break. Buxton has gone full Sano mode (Homer Happy) and needs to get back to being himself. Arraez is probably tired. Playing more than he ever has. Hopefully we see the good Sonny Gray tonight.

So much for that wish…..
they had their chances for RBI’s and didn’t get the big hits. Nick Gordon should be mopping this up?????
This team can’t do anything right at the moment. I saw a tweet that said in their last 50 games they are like 8 games below 500. We have single handedly let the White Sox back into this race.
They don’t have nor have they ever had the pitching to win. It’s a wild card at the very best.
Buxton is terrible, has like 35+ strikeouts in the last 25 games or something like that. He’s hitting a robust .216 for the season. He is letting the pressure of the contract get to him.
The question will be………if they don’t trade The Fat Kid soon, who will get sent down to St. Paul when he gets called up? They can’t increase his trade value with him in St. Paul. It will likely come down to Gordon, or Celestino.
