Rocco, Rocco, Rocco…..When will you learn?

Pagan blew two wins last week against the Tribe in catastrophic fashion and he trots him right out there again. Can’t believe the result…..The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over……

    So bad.

I once said the same thing about anyone who wastes their time on the Twins thinking they will ever win another WS, and triggered quite a few people (not you Mahto)….

Taylor Rogers would have sealed the win

Go away with your Rogers take. jester He is gone, besides he wouldn’t have pitched in the 8th. A legit complaint would be if Smeltzer goes 7, Jax goes the 8th instead of Pagan. Maybe Pagan closes and he still blows up, or maybe not.

Has Arreaz looked different since be hit those homeruns? Swinging harder? Looking to go deep instead of punching a hit or walk?

    Buxton bats lead-off.
    Arreaz hits 4th.

Just how 99% of us would write the line-up. doah

Totally agree Dutch, Jax should’ve gotten the 8th. And I think Arraez might be trying to hit the ball harder but that’s not a terrible trade off for a guy hitting 350. Might make him a 325 hitter but with a little more power. I’m fine with either approach.

Another nice start by Smeltzer too. Not sure if he can keep it up with his stuff, but man having another solid young arm would really help.

Rocky gets worried having lefties hitting lefties so who knows his rationale. the sprinkler don’t give a shhhhhhh where he bats, he still gets it done. having Polanco back is a nice boost to the lineup.

Greg Maddux won 355 games with a fastball (at the end of his career) that hit 85 mph. Not saying Smeltzer is the second coming of Maddux but he’s getting it done that same way – keep the ball on the corners, throw strikes and keep pitch count down and don’t give up walks.

Sonny Gray is like Maddux. Smeltzer doesn’t have the movement. He still locates and has a good change up which in this day and age can make you successful. I’m just not convinced he can keep it going. Hopefully I’m wrong.

The Athletic had a list of a player from all 30 teams which could be a trade target. Here is the Twins. Notice which “Fat Kid” is missing from Gleemans list.

Austin Martin was the headline prospect acquired by the Twins in the José Berríos trade last July and they could look to swap him for a Berríos-like starter just one year later. Unfortunately, because Martin’s prospect stock has dipped during that time, it’s possible he would no longer be enough to bring back the caliber of starter the Twins need. In addition to Martin, the Twins also have an assortment of young major-league and upper-minors bats who could be packaged in a deal, like José Miranda, Spencer Steer, Matt Wallner, Trevor Larnach and Christian Encarnacion-Strand. Young hitters for a veteran pitcher who can help right now is seemingly the obvious move. — Aaron Gleeman

Boy real insight there I think I could write for the Athletic. Trade a prospect for a pitcher. What a novel idea.

HAHA. You better brush up on your analytical knowledge because that’s most of what their writing consists of.

And Dutch, the only team stupid enough to trade for Sano is the team he’s already on…..

Too bad Larnach is out for awhile. With the way Kirilloff is swinging since he’s been back parting with Larnach wouldn’t be much of a setback at all.

Understatement of the year. Why do we continue to roll thus bum out there!

Saving face that he does something to validate trading Rogers away. Yeah I will say it again that it was one of the worst trades I have seen no one will change my mind. Hey silver lining is we get Paddack in the rotation in 2024…..yay
