So bottom of the 10th, still tied.

Twins have guys on first and second, no one out.

    Correa then Kepler due up.

Don’t you have Correa bunt there?

I would think we would do anything to get the runner over to third where we can score on a wild pitch or passed ball, or a sac fly. But not now a days we go for a two run homer!!

I’m all for sac bunts in those situations except when it’s Correa. The guy is a big moment machine. He didn’t get the job done last night, but you do not bunt him there. Buxton is the guy that should’ve bunted. All you have to do is get it past the pitcher and Arraez walks to third AND with Buxton’s speed he’s probably got an 80 percent chance to beat it out.

Guessing the win percentage is higher, if not much higher if you bunt him..

You might be correct if you can tell me the last time Correa was asked to lay down a sac bunt. While a bunt would be the right move your success rate would be about the same as Sano laying off a 3-2 low & away splitter after homering his last at bat. Some things just seldom happen. That and of course we did pay him $35 million to catch the ball and hit the ball. BTW, he is far under performing in the power department relative to the contract he got. But, I’m very happy to have him around, he seems like a nice guy and seems to enjoy the team.

Don’t ever ask an analytic nerd about success percentages with sac bunting. They always claim it’s a losing tactic. They have numbers, but I don’t put any stock into them. This pitch framing garbage has me so annoyed I’m actually thinking a computer ump sounds good now. chased

Agreed, did you see Doug Eddings last night? Missed 29 calls including 6 on strikeouts, and got 86.2% right. He must have had the under on the length of game…

Yeah he was bad. I’m not for computer umps by the way, but if it gets rid of everybody getting chubbies over Jeffers’ so called pitch framing I will vote for it.

Now if only we could get Rocco to look over Correa’s shoulder while he reads….

I missed the opening….I see china doll is out again. Whats the team line…scheduled rest, or tired from the torrid hitting pace he’s on?

Mahto you are in for a treat. They are saying the fat kid will be ready to start swinging again soon. I’m guessing a stint at St. Paul so they can trade him. Once he hits his first HR there will be about 2 weeks of cool breezes from the dip, swing & miss.

Holy! Rocco was reading too! Some creativity! Safety squeeze!

BTW, Roy Smalley is as painful to listen to as Gigi Marvin on a Wild game. The guy fumbles over more words and thoughts…..

I’m not watching another game til Baldelli finally get his arse canned. What ever happened to defensive replacements. I know buxton played a few games this month and I know the pitcher should get people out but he catches that ball in the 9th easy that celestino made look hard and still aced it.

Rocco would have a bullpen burnt out by the 4th of July if he had 17 pitchers. This is getting old watching him run out pitcher after pitcher. Something has to change. This team has the offense but it does not have the pitching and never has during the Rocco regime. SO they say Duran and Jax are unavailable, but who is in the end of the game Jax.

Relief pitching sucked per usual, but one of the small things that really bothered me these last two games is Correa. Yes he hit two dingers, but when it mattered most he choked. We paid him to be THE guy yet both games he couldn’t even put the ball in play in the ninth… Frustrating two nights and what a set of rollercoaster games.

A bit early, but might be the turning point of the season if they don’t pull today’s game out. First two they should have won.

Did anyone really believe they could compete with the big boys? Enjoy the games, just don’t expect much.

Cleveland is not big boys so i assume you are referring to the spankees and stros. they can compete for the central and who knows if they will be buyers or sellers by the deadline……what do we have another 100 games to play roll

I wish I could say I’m surprised that the bullpen comes in and starts off with a 4 pitch walk… The way the bullpen has been pitching I wish they would just let the starters pitch 9, no matter what the scoreboard looks like…

Duran has struck out 3 of the 4 batters he faced and they decide to bring in Thielbar in the ninth. We must of not had enough pitchers pitch to day.

That’s a pitcher with demons. Can’t even throw 60 feet to first. Lucky pick.

Damn our manager is a genius. Now I can finish my case of lattes while weeding the garden.
