We should have won two and could have won three. This is probably the worst the yanks have played. We were given gifts and blew it.

Reiterates the fact that this team could win a playoff spot but will go no where again. An offensive day that will not soon be forgotten – overshadowed by mediocre/poor pitching. This is a recurrent theme, and today’s game a good reminder we haven’t advanced nearly far enough.

Exactly – The Twins destroyed Gerrit Cole, but the Yankees bullpen shut them down and allowed only 1 hit the last 6.2 innings of the game! Meanwhile, some of the Twins’ best relievers gave up 6 runs.

That’s been their problem since Rocco got here. They score early and often but stop after the third inning.

Royce Lewis torn ACL. Done for season. Out possible 12 months. Looks like we will be shopping for shortstops next year again.

Wow….What awful luck. Seems like a great kid too. Now you just try as hard as you can to make Correa want to stay.

He should have never been in the outfield in the first place. Feel sorry for the kid but not for whoever in the brain trust OK’d the move.

Couldn’t agree more. There was NOTHING to be gained by having him out there.

Agree, It doesn’t help that our current CF can’t play more than half a season.
Royce might be 30 when he wins rookie of the year.

Interesting phenomenon in baseball and other sports today. Used to be surgery for ACL or Tommy John was a one-time occurrence. Seeing guys having it done more than once in the same joint more often now like the Twins Lewis and Paddock.

    Coincidence or trend??

I guess it all depends on the dead guy they get the replacement ACL from?

Oh imagine how pissed you would be if you traveled a distance with a kid or two to see the Twins play. Line-ups come out for a HOME GAME and both China doll & Correa are sitting. I’ll accept the fact they are trotting out another AA pitcher.

People wonder why kids are losing interest in sports.

i get what you’re saying but most of those kids don’t really care. they just out to have a good time and enjoy the baseball experience. theres probably more middle aged dudes decked out in Buxton jerseys drowning $20 beers that are pissed about it.

good thing we got a guy like Luis to pick up the others watching the game. on a side note this chi chi rodriguez guy is better than Bundy

Geez, ever wonder why the Twins can’t get a free agent pitcher who isn’t a reclamation project? Maybe because you have no chance of getting a win with this guy. frown

I heard Baldelli say the offense hasn’t slowed down against the good pitching. It will come playoff time. If the Twins are in contention, they better add a quality arm(s) before the trading deadline.

I really do think Ryan and Sonny Gray are quality top of the rotation caliber pitchers. The jury is out on the rest of them. I think this new version of Smeltzer is pretty promising. But who know how that plays out. Paddack was trending in a really good direction too, but we all know how that ended.

maybe mix in a pitch out from time to time…..wtf? Jeffers is just getting abused. in addition to adding another arm down the road, they better think about a catcher who can throw a guy out once every few weeks. pretty sure you could find a catcher with an arm that bats .200 or so and its an improvement.
