Anyone second guessing that Grateral trade? At the time I think it seemed bad, but not too bad anymore. I dont think he has been doing anything special with LA, but admittedly I dont follow the whole league real well.

I honestly never second guessed it. His stock plummeted when they turned him into a reliever. I’d do it again in a second even with the Maeda Tommy John.

He’s a lot like Alcala. Throws real hard but has a low K ratio because he doesn’t locate and doesn’t have a ton of movement.

How much longer do we have Maeda? Will he be coming back yet this season? Imagine this rotation with everyone healthy? Too bad Paddox got injured this rotation would be stacked. At the beginning it seemed like a bunch of no names out there, at least to the casual fan like me, but they have been impressive.

I was then, and still think it was a bad trade. Maeda at his best is an end of rotation starter, that probably wouldn’t see the mound in the playoffs for a WS contender. Graterol has a ton of potential and I would have kept him as a starter, reminded me of a young Bartolo Colon.

You’re not alone in that thought Werm, but I would completely disagree. He might not be a true ace but he’d be a number 2 on almost any team. Duran in 3 months has already proven how expendable Graderol was. And Graterol isn’t that good. He throws hard. THATS IT. Career ERA of 4.27 and only 71 Ks in 90 innings! That is a horrible K ratio for someone who throws 100. I’ll trade a reliever for a starting pitcher any day of the week. Relievers are a dime a dozen. This regime just doesn’t to spend any time or money on them when they should.

Maeda MIGHT be back around the last part of this season.

But those dime a dozen relievers pitch more innings each game than our starters idea

Duran is my man crush but he could blow his arm any day and be an average Joe. His story is yet to be written

Whats the over/under for runs from New York this week with Sands, Archer and Bundy starting against them? I will put it at 15 and I will take the over.

He might not be a true ace but he’d be a number 2 on almost any team.

Maeda is a 34 year old with a 3.87 era, and if it weren’t for his first year here (2.70 ERA in the shortened Covid year) his ERA would be well north of 4, probably close to last years 4.66. Have you seen the recent WS teams? They don’t have anyone remotely close to as bad as Maeda starting. And who knows where Graterol goes from here, but I’d much rather take a chance on him in a starting role than the 583rd 30 something year old retread that this team is notorious for selling as something they are not, a top of the rotation starter.

We can agree to disagree on that one. Graderol is never going to be a starter. That much I can tell you. Sure maybe not on the Dodgers or the Yankees Maeda wouldnt be a top of the rotation guy but that’s because those teams are freaking all star teams. That’s why I said “most teams”. Also, Maeda was hurt basically all year long last season. That’s why his numbers were inflated.

Bundy might give up 15 himself.

Joe Madden just got fired by the Angels. Maybe this team will tank and we can give Rocco the boot and hire a real manager in Madden.

Playing the Yankees is always such a good indictment on the Twins starting pitching and why they’ll never win a playoff series with a mediocre staff.

True, but Al Bundy may be even worse and Iron-Man Archer may not last his usual 4 innings.

I’m fine with him coming in there. He’s got pretty good stuff. They also have two more games they will need at least 4 innings out of their pen.

    And he struck out Stanton.

Sanchez is a DH. If china doll can’t play the outfield sit him. Sanchez can’t stop a beach ball.

Ugh…..walking a run in. Was doing real good until that.

Sanchez has actually really improved his defense this season. He hasn’t had many balls get by him.

He has not improved his defense. It is the same as it was in New York. He will not or can’t slide out to block a ball. Never could, never will.

I think he was imagining Duffeys head on the ump’s shoulders there….A freaking tee ball coach would know not to bring Duffey into that situation. Rocco might have a mob coming for him after this one.
