Twins 2021

Watching Dobnak in the first inning two things struck me – he seems like he’s “flinging” the ball even more than usual, and he seems “puffier.” I’m watching on a different tv so maybe that’s it..

I heard Rocco on the radio this morning say Dobnak has a “nail/blister” issue on his throwing hand and that’s why he was throwing a little differently and lower velocity. I could tell something in his mechanics wasn’t right. But he does look like he’s gained some weight too… maybe he bit his finger nail while downing some Nachos or something..

His mechanics look off. Every pitch was a different release point/arm angle – even for the same pitches – looked like he was whipping it and hoping it released at the right time. Stopped watching after they got to 7 runs and turned on Big Sky. At least that was entertaining and slightly less predictable

Weren’t the Twins supposed to be good this year ??

Did you copy and paste that from almost every other annual Twins thread in the past decade?

…this roster is just not that talented. When they play well, they’re a middle of the pack team. There’s a huge talent gap between them and the top 8-10 teams in the league. The guys who the Twins faithful have long thought were the future or valuable pieces to a top notch team are at best damaged goods.

The Twins are going to have to spend $ to be perennial contenders and somehow get real shrewd and precise with prospects. Free Agents aren’t coming running to Minnesota.

The Brewers and Twins are my two favorite MLB teams and have often been in the same boat. Both know from an economic standpoint that a playoff appearance every few years and being mediocre will make $$$, keep enough fans around, and continue to rinse and repeat the process. There’s always just enough “potential” or “in a couple seasons” talk between both franchises to keep people around.

That is a terrible place to be and pretty much sums up all MN sports

Thought they actually had a decent team last year but this year seems like a train-wreck

Just saw where the Giants DFA’d Wisler. He did a decent job in the bullpen last year. Bring him in and send Colome out.

He’s been worse than even his career average this year (which isn’t good). No thanks.

So, the Tampa Bay Rays just sent a couple of guys to the Giants for Wisler. I’m watching former Twins draft choice Cole Stewart pitching for the Cubs vs St. Louis. My question…are the Twins that bad at recognizing pitching talent or are these other teams in the same desperate place that they pick up anybody also?

Oh, I guess I have a second question…..why haven’t they stared trading some of these guys yet? Seems to me if you move earlier rather than later you can get a better return. I’m not in favor of waiting for the trade deadline, do it now.

What are you talking about? Their gonna take all that momentum from last nights big comeback and win 7 out of next 20.

It’s the Twins history to losing guys and those guys having solid careers after they leave. I saw a list of the top ten ERAs in the league and 3 former Twins were on it. Lance Lynn, Rich Hill, and KYLE FREAKING GIBSON. That just tells you how awful our pitching coaches and development is.

They have never developed a pitcher other than Santana and Michael Pineda has probably been the only consistently good FA starting pitcher they have obtained. I would’ve added Maeda to that list but he’s been so bad this season I can’t at the moment.

Rasslin’ & Mets vs Padres got over just in time to see the Twinks blow another 3-0 lead. Got to get up at 4:30 so they can gag the rest of this one without me. lol

Ok guys…..I’m about to lose it. How the hell can you out Shoemaker in this game after how he’s pitched and the first time out of the bullpen. Especially when you take Rogers out after one batter???? Is Rocco trying to urine everyone off??? I’m at a loss for words……

At least this tweet got me laughing pretty hard.

Someone suggested that Shoemaker didn’t get the start because of his terrible last outing. Then how can you put him in with the game on the line?

Baldelli said he needed to save Hansel in case it went to extra innings. doah

That’s exactly my point. If you have to save Robles for extras why the F$%# did you only let Rogers throw to one freaking batter! I didn’t think Rocco could get any worse but he took it to a whole new level last night. He’s going to lose the players pretty quick if he keeps blowing games where they come back and tie or go ahead. After the game Donaldson had I’d be lighting Rocco up in the clubhouse after the game. What a joke.

Rocco’s answers to the press postgame are even more embarrassing. The first is after being asked why Rogers was only allowed to pitch to a batter. In which he completely admits he was managing for the loss.

The second after being asked why he put Shoemaker out for a second inning.

Don’t burn up so many pitchers then!! You don’t have to do what the analytics say to do. Have some baseball common sense.

Heres a idea……Rocco only manages on days Kirriloff, Cruz, Donaldson, Simmons, Jeffers or Garver all play.

I’m tired of the getaway-day lineup every day. Be professionals and play or retire and flip Burgers.

It’s not even worth complaining about. We are worse this yea so far than our paces in our worst seasons in franchise history.

I’ll start paying attention when they blow this rotation and bullpen up.

    And blow Rocco up too.

Why is he even is seattle with the team if he cant play? Is he just soft or what? Cant tell me the guys who regularly play 140ish games a year aint banged up some times. Or is it because hes just so damn fast he cant decelerate? What a crock of BS.

China doll😃I’ll add that to my other names for him! It may be offensive tho? I heard he would have been back sooner but had trouble decelerating! You can’t make it up if you tried. Wrap him up in bubble wrap and run him out there.
Heck if tortuga’s pitch count gets too high, maybe he can throw a few innings too?

How about we look at the front office? Falvine were supposed to be wunderkids that revolutionized the entire team! I’d say we are far worse off for the future today than when they started. So many deals look terrible now, Donaldson? Maeda is who he’s been throughout his career, not who he was in last years abbreviated season. 5 more years of Dobnak? Any top end starters anywhere in the system? Any players taking that next step forward (Buxton, Sano, Keppler, Berrios, etc.)?

The Twinks are so pathetic that the Athletic guys (sorry forgot their names) are writing about the next crop of prospects in A & AA ball. No kidding. One even got called up to St. Paul. My guess is that kid is in a Twins uniform within two weeks and Rocco can set about destroying him also.

At least I see Kirilloff is playing now. Saw Arreaz was back also. They need China Doll, Cave or Kepler back so that kid playing center (or trying to) can get sent back to the independent league or wherever they found him.

Why would anyone punish themselves and watch even part of a game? I just check the box or here to see latest complaints!
