Cardinals released Wong also. This will be a strange off season with few contracts being for more than 1 year.

I was on vacation all week and I didnt watch game 2 or game 6, or any other game for that matter. You very well could be right, mahto! Just giving the contrarian argument like I usually do
Can’t believe what happened to Nick Anderson in the playoffs. He was absolutely lights out all regular season. Might have been the best reliever in baseball. Everyone here know he went to high school in Brainerd and played college ball and SCSU? Former AAA-er for the Twins too. Sucks to see the local kid struggle in the big spot.
I’m glad to see Romo go. Hope they bring back May and Clippard though.

Clippard I’ll take but May terrifies me. Has good stuff but the only place he locates is right down the pipe. Can’t believe he doesn’t get shelled every time out.

Let it go Mahto for your own sanity….You are just encouraging the behavior. It’s like you are arguing with a toddler who refuses to eat dinner. Sometimes it’s just easier to send them to bed and close the door instead.Awh, poor ripjiggen. Did I hurt your feelings again?
Nope not at all. Was just giving mahto some parenting advice.
Thats surprising. You sound butt hurt for some reason. Cant quite wrap my head around why though. Maybe all these numbers are a little confusing to you?
Nope, but keep reaching for those straws straws bud.
Thank you for your input to the conversation everyone else is having. About as educated and thoughtful of a response as I’d expect from you!
No problem…

No problem…I just find you really annoying your AAR is of the charts Annoying Above Replacement. This thread has nothing to do with it. About as educated as you chastising people about keeping walleyes on a lake you know nothing about. So keep doing you bud. Have at it.
And you’re referring to me as the toddler here?
How many times are you going to edit and change your response before you stick with something, chief? I think you’re a little more bothered than you’d like to admit…

Funny I have the same conversation with my kids. Like I said do you bud.

Oh so you’re an a**hole to kids too? Again, not surprised. Appreciate the advice though, I will keep “doing me”. Its a shame you get so butt hurt over my comments talking about baseball with strangers over the internet. Maybe next time dont read them, or even better yet, dont get so offended by them. They’re not there to get your panties in a bunch.. i promise

I’d take LaRussa, Kelly, Showalter all day long over the kids managing today. LaRussa made the White Sux better today.

I’ll bet you money White Sox have a better record than the Twins this coming season. One of the best managers in the history of the game and it makes them worse…..You probably thought Dusty Baker was going to sink the Astros too…..
tbro16InactiveSt PaulPosts: 1170October 29, 2020 at 4:19 pm #1983726Old school baseball guys are certainly going to support the hiring of old school managers, and hes about as old school as they come. Old school Jerry Reinsdorf let La Russa go in 1986 but has since regretted it, and he ignored the rest of the CHW staff and hired La Russa again anyway. Hes been out of the league for 10 years now! White sox could win more games than the Twins but its because their roster will likely have more talent on it next year.
La Russa had an issue with Tatis hitting a grand slam on a 3-0 count earlier this year. Tim Anderson said the only thing Tatis did wrong was apologize. Wasnt more than a few years ago when La Russa referred to baseball as a white mans sport too This is gonna get good!

Funny, roster talent didn’t seem to matter when talking about Gardy and the Tigers…..
tbro16InactiveSt PaulPosts: 1170October 29, 2020 at 4:52 pm #1983741I know what you’re referencing mahto but I dont understand the comparison from this conversation to the last
October 29, 2020 at 5:02 pm #1983744Because you were blaming Gardy being an old school manager being the reason the Tigers are so bad even though he inherited a horrendous lineup. But now that an old school manager inherits a solid lineup you use it against him.
tbro16InactiveSt PaulPosts: 1170October 29, 2020 at 5:25 pm #1983751That wasnt a knock on Gardy, never even mentioned him. It was a knock on their lack of analytics being used in their front office scouting and decision making. I honestly dont know where CHW stands on analytics, but hiring La Russa isnt a vote for it.. unless he’s changed!

Theres something we can agree on
October 29, 2020 at 6:33 pm #1983762It’s been said he started the lefty specialist thing which evolved into the sh$t show we have today.
November 2, 2020 at 5:21 pm #1984827Thought maybe some of you would like a good chuckle. I swiped this from the Athletic, it’s a bit long but worth the read,
https://theathletic.com/2173584/2020/11/02/twins-trade-proposals-who-says-no/
Just goes to show not all the crazy Twins fans reside here.
November 2, 2020 at 5:56 pm #1984840I thought for sure your post was going to be about Maeda being a finalist for the AL Cy Young Dutch.
November 2, 2020 at 6:01 pm #1984843I saw that. I also saw that if Bieber doesn’t win the fix is in!!
November 2, 2020 at 6:08 pm #1984845I saw that. I also saw that if Bieber doesn’t win the fix is in!!
As much as I loved how Maeda pitched for us, I agree.
November 4, 2020 at 3:46 pm #1985424Trevor Bauer declined his qualifying offer from the Reds today. He is at the top of my list for the Twins to go after. I have little to no faith it will happen but a guy can hope.
If they do sign him we will have to send a compensation round pick to the Reds but lets be honest how many of our draft picks tend to work out? Bauer led the NL in just about every category last season and is a very fiery player (ok maybe an a$$hole) which personally I think the Twins need more of in their clubhouse.
November 4, 2020 at 4:55 pm #1985439Hey, they’re gonna spend money when the window is open, right?
I don’t think the window will ever be open with Boredelli at the helm. He’d probably pull Gerrit Cole after 4 innings and 70 pitches if he had the chance.
November 4, 2020 at 5:08 pm #1985442They will sit until the very end before signing anybody. I truly believe they think they can plug anybody into pitch. I don’t think the term “ace” is in their thinking at all.
The most important thing they will need to know is will there be fans in the stands. Without fans there is no sense in spending to compete. There is nothing to gain by winning.
November 12, 2020 at 9:49 am #1987225Did anybody ever think Trevor Bauer would win a Cy Young? Strange cat but things seem to be working out for him right now.
Silence on the Twins front. No surprise there.
AnotherFishermanPosts: 605November 12, 2020 at 9:54 am #1987230Kenta Maeda was a top three candidate for the AL Cy Young, how is that silence?

Do I dare mention what hes really, really into? (besides getting into arguments on twitter, of course)

I understand what he is into. This year it worked out well for him. Maybe he has found the magic. Anything to the fact that both Cy Young winners came out of the weak central divisions of both leagues? Or is that some sort of numbers anomaly?
