Year 4 of pretending La Machina is an ace should be the end of that convo I think.

To be fair Meada is there number 1. Pitching is not there problem in these two games however.

    He’s a #2 or 3. When the manager takes you out after 5 innings of a 1-1 do or die play-off game you aren’t a #1.

Another aspect of the game you can thank analytics for. Just saying.

BTW….I’ve never seen more base runners get thrown out at home by 20 ft or more since we got our current third base coach. He’s almost as horrible as the strike zone has been this series.

Game would be 2-1 if Cruz understood launch angle and dipped his shoulder.

Dusty Baker did the same thing with Grienke yesterday, but lucky for them they had a good guy for long relief.

I was really hoping to see a comment from Mahto regarding the Astros’ run they scored that wouldn’t have happened if they didn’t have the shift on.

I broke my “beatin stick” on that horse a few weeks ago.

I’m still trying to find that depth that everyone was telling me this bullpen had……..

Haha, that’s good. Just poking fun. I’ve totally indifferent on the shift, but I immediately thought of your hatred towards it.

Can’t really put either game on the bullpen at this point. Should have been out of the inning last night. Can’t win to many games 1-0

And they have to have depth when Rocco doesn’t allow a guy to go past five reguardless. Lol

I mean 2 hits through 8 last night. 2 semi meaningless hit in the 9th.
    3 through 7 today.

Oh definitely. You can’t win scoring one run a game. But all year our club has scored runs early and our bullpen hasn’t held many times. But you could also blame that on the fact that the club can’t score after the 4th inning.

I feel like I’m watching twelve year olds trying to hit hrs yielding pop fly after pop fly and coming back to the dugout wondering why they aren’t hitting well.

Yeah I agree. Every team has a #1, not every team has an ace. Maeda and Berrios both are #3-4 guys on a world championship caliber team, but as you stated they have to score some runs for it to matter!

Analytics will tell you it’s more important “how” you score rather then scoring all willey nilley.

And somehow Buxton isn’t well enough to play, yet he comes in to pinch run? And then gets picked off for the 3rd out?? Hard to make some of this stuff up….

Anyone want to buy my homer Hankey. Will be in the classifieds section for half price. It’s almost comical how they can repeatedly not win a playoff game. It is really hard to lose that many in a row. Analytics would tell you it is impossible.

Haha! I typically get one just for Twins fans’ collector’s sake but hadn’t gotten one yet. This reminds me of 2009 when I was fired up for the playoffs, ordered a hat and sweatshirt from mlb.com, and the Twins were swept out of the playoffs before my items were delivered.
