The Skanks lost as well, establishes us nicely for home field advantage if we don’t take the Central.

Home field advantage looks like a big deal. Both teams (Twins and Yankees) have much better records at home compared to on the road.

Interested to see how Bailey looks tonight. He could be of some use as a long arm out of the bullpen in the playoffs.

Wonder if we’ll see Buxton at the top of the lineup more?

Not a pretty win tonight, but now we’re only 0.5 behind the white Sox. And the Sox have to play against Bieber tomorrow. This may be a golden opportunity to retake first.

Don’t have to be pretty this time of year. Huge win.

What a day! Got to watch the Indians walk off the white sox then the Twins walk off the Tigers. This last week is going to be a blast.

Odds for the Twins to win the division are still just 30%. Twins now control their own destiny for a home series with the Yankees, assuming they don’t win the division.

Looks the white sox get Bieber, Plesac, and Darvish the next 3 days.

Its a shame we haven’t had the “trade Suxton for a bucket of baseballs” crowd speak up in awhile.

wRC+ 130 (30% more production than the average hitter)
Defensive WAR of 1.1 (3rd among the league, 1st among outfielders)
10 defensive runs saved (15+ is gold glove caliber over the course of 162 games)
Hitting .340 since returning from short IL stint
Oh, and the Twins are 25-12 when he plays and 9-10 when he doesn’t.

Yep, the Twins are significantly better when Buxton is in there. He’s also so much fun to watch.

I’ve jumped back and forth on Buxton for a while now. Mainly due to the reckless dives into the wall and injuries. There is no question to his abilities and how he affects the team in a very positive way. Yesterday I saw him ease up and let a ball bounce off the wall. He knows this team needs him. Loved to see that! Rosario ended up throwing the guy out so it worked out just fine for us!

    Exciting win last night!

Looks like the Sox own the tiebreaker for the division, so in a way it’s like they have a 1.5 game lead.

Im pretty sure Cabera get a hit every at bat against the twins, at least it sure seems that way. Guy has been a Twin killer a long time but they held on tonight.

Sox lose again! Twins (barely) win again!

Sox have one more game in Cleveland tomorrow. If the White sox lose, the Twins will control their own destiny for the division title the rest of the way. If the White sox win, they will control their own destiny for the division title.

With another Yankees loss again tonight, the Twins at a minimum look to have come a step closer to securing home field advantage vs NYY if they don’t win the division. If NYY were to win out the Twins would need to take 2 of 3 from Cincy.

If the Twins do win the division, it’ll be a toss up between playing the Indians in the 2/7 matchup or the slumping Astros in 3/6 matchup in round one.

Whitesox choked against the tribe, so the Twins have the division in their control, home field would be really nice to have…

I haven’t been watching much ball lately but Suxton’s trade value must be at all time high with all those crazy numbers you crunched! Now that Thor had his Tommy John, you call up the Mets and see if they trade him straight up!

Buxton just got hit in the head with a pitch.

Twins trail 4-2 in the 8th.

Not only do the twins lose the game, but they also lost their two most important position players to injury. Donaldson re-aggravate the injury that he missed a month for? Buxton get (another) concussion? Or were they both taken out for precautionary reasons?

Twins predicted to still have a 67% chance of winning the division thanks to the Grade-A choke job the white sox have been experiencing.

With the Reds clinching a playoff berth yesterday, I wonder if they still start Bauer on Sunday? Hopefully they rest him for their upcoming playoff series. Assuming Castillo still goes today, he’d be in line to start game 2. While Gray could start tomorrow to be in line for their game 3.

Donaldson is called a mild strain, taken out for precautionary reasons. Buxton got hit square on the helmet, I think he will be ok, he walked off on his own power.

Typical Berrios……mow them down with ease for 3 innings and then get rocked. He would make a great #3 starter for a good team.

to me it seems that Berrios throws too many strikes. guys know that and they hurt him 3rd time through the order. he has filthy pitches and needs to get guys to chase more IMO.
Kenta and big Mike get the ball for the first 2 games then maybe they start Berrios and hope for the best or take him out after 4 and put in Rich or Odo? Its not ideal but winning games is the priority here.
the Donaldson injury is concerning. sit him next 2 games and hire some kid to rub icyhot on his leg all day. Buxy will be fine.

Hes not far off from it now. Pineda could overtake his turn in the rotation as early as the ALDS if the Twins get out of the first round. I cant imagine theyd throw Pineda on extra short rest next week.

Scenarios for today’s games. It’s funny how, in my opinion atleast, the two best case scenarios for the Twins playoff matchup involves them losing today. Unfortunately, so does the worst case scenario!

    Go Twins!

Look again. As we enter play today, the Twins are the 5 seed. Yankees own the tiebreaker. Looking more and more like a 3 game series in Yankee stadium

Never a doubt in my mind lol

Does Meada throw at the first batter of series? He did lose to the cheaters.

Thank god they avoided that disaster. All it took was the division leaders losing 7 of their last 8 games to avoid it smirk

I’m sure the Twins/Stros start times Tues/Wed will not work out for many, but with my current night/weekend rotation I’m looking forward to sitting and watching playoff baseball those afternoons.

To be fair the Yankees at the time won ten in a row. What’s more random. They still would have been the 4 seed and at home without the Chi Sox collapse. Any who hopefully Maeda can start strong in game one and Buxton and Donaldson are in the line up. Might be the first game in a while that the opening day lineup is back out there.
