Twins 2020

At this point the Twins need to get healthy. Try and get their playoff lineup in for the last week of games and set up their rotation. They are most likely the 4 seed which will still get home field for the first round. We will have to see how the East shakes out and if the will play the Yankees or Jays. At this point I don’t see how Rogers is nothing more that your lefty specialist. Although having to face three batters kind of eliminates that role.

I agree i hate the shift to but what i hate even more is if the whole damn infield is between 1st and 2nd how can a professional left handed batter not even attempt to bunt towards 3rd to move a guy over from 1st. I like watching homers as much as the next guy but sometimes take what they are handing you and maybe the stupid shift would go away. And just for the record it was obvious last year Rocco didnt like Schoop but would rather have him at 2nd this year then all the other junk thats been there. And yes i know he just got hurt.

Well he won’t have to pack much as he is only going over to Saint Paul for a week or so.

He is gone until the play-offs unless the virus decimates the team.

What do you mean? This one might be under 4 hrs…. jester

Just over 2 hrs for 7 innings isn’t too bad.

    Buxton hits another HR.

Sano leads the league with 73. Strikeouts.

Rocco Boredelli takes out his best starter after 5 innings and 86 pitches and his reliever proceeds to load the bases……another brilliant bit of overmanaging….Lucky to get out of it.

Don’t worry. Josh Donaldson has ignited this team with passion! I mean, what a solid veteran/all-star thing to do. doah

Sure it was stupid timing but honestly I love seeing someone on a Twins team finally have some passion and some fire for the game. I’d love to see more of it personally. Just maybe not in a spot like that.

For the record….I thought it was freaking CLASSIC! One of the best things I’ve seen in baseball for awhile. Laughed darn hard.

There is no point to be judging these meaningless games. They are basically exhibition games at this point.

A win today gives the Twins a series win vs the White Sux. Thats the first determining factor for winning the division if there is a tie.

It’s no more meaningless then this whole season. grin

I don’t know about you but I’d rather play the whole wild card series at home where the Twins are 20-5 opposed to on the road………..

    In what way? doah

Win today would have kept them in contention for the division/top seed in the playoffs. Not to mention, now with the loss they no longer have the head to head advantage. Instead, they’re 3 games back and all but locked into a first round matchup with the Yankees. Joy

But, they will have the Yankees (if that is who it ends up to be) at home for a best of three with NO games in the other teams park. All the games will be played in Mpls.

Maeda, Barrios & Oderizzi with Pineda as the long guy if somebody gets bombed.

Winning or finishing second does not give you any real advantage in the playoffs this year. I guess for those that want to hang a meaningless banner it is as important.

I thought it was lame. I also think anytime some athlete decides to go overboard these days, it’s always, always written off as passion. Give me a break. Since when do temper tantrums and acting like 2 year olds get labeled as passion. Totally self centered move by a hot head.
He already made his statement. A confident swagger back to the dugout woulda made his case for me.

The great Chicago collapse continues. Why was Donaldson allowed to swing before Buxton even had a chance to steal 2nd in the 9th?

Look again. As we enter play today, the Twins are the 5 seed. Yankees own the tiebreaker. Looking more and more like a 3 game series in Yankee stadium

Yankee starters don’t scare anybody with the exception of Cole. I saw it suggested that to start Dobnyk against Cole and take our chances with Maeda & Barrios against their # 2 & 3.

They will regret it if they don’t get the home field. It was in their grasp, all they had to do was win a couple road games.

Dobnak won’t be pitching. Pineada, Berrios, Maeda. Pineada and Maeda are your best starters at the moment. Berrios starting to look better again.

Didn’t say thats what I would do. Depending on where the game is played would dictate my order of pitchers. It would all be moot if Cleveland can sweep the White Sux and the Twinks can sweep the Reds. Not sure either can happen.

Anything can happen this year. Nothing would shock me. Cole hasn’t exactly been an ace this year either.

As they say it ain’t over until it’s over. Cleveland beat the Sux now it’s time for the Twinks to step up against Detroit tonight.
