Always have to go back to the past when the present doesn’t support your argument…. You’d think all the scientific data the Twins use would be able to beat a team that bad without even taking the field……
Pretty bad play by arreaz and polanco with bases loaded could have had a triple play at least a double play…
Looks like 2 little league teams playing.
Both pitchers throw about as hard as little leaguers.
3 errors right now and you could argue there is probably 3 more already.
Think the kids are saying who is that big kid at first he can’t be the same age as the rest of us he is huge

got to be that big when you have to carry the offense every game
Yeah this was a brutal game to watch. Bullpen blows another one. Offense was awful again only in the game thanks to errors by the Sox.
Time to make Duffey the closer. Rogers can’t throw a ball anywhere but down the middle anymore.
We know Pineda is back today but the hot rumor on the street is that Buxton will be back in the lineup today and Donaldson back tomorrow.
Can Pinada be a nose tackle for the Vikings when he isn’t pitching?
Got a new lead off man tonight!
What in the Actual F……Sano most likely won’t tough Keuchel tonight. He throws too much junk.
Geez I wish Buxton was 1/2 as good as his hype. I love watching the guy, his defense is worth the price of admission alone. Good to see him get a big hit tonight.
If only he could hit .275 and play every game.
He’s gotten pretty close to his hype. He’s just not on the field enough. No doubt he makes this team much much better. I’m glad he’s back as he’s single handedly won this game for MN if they hang on.
In other news I’m pretty happy with Big Mike’s first start in almost a year.
So Sano should maybe bat behind Cruz tomorrow. I’m no mlb manager, but why?

I’m assuming the thought today was he has been getting on base more than most guys on the team lately (I know, shocker), and to get him on base in front of Polanco and Cruz. I just think the timing with Keuchel on the mound was about the worst starter to do that with. He’s the kind of pitcher that give Sano fits.
I gotta say I didn’t think there was anyway Sano could play first. He has proven me wrong with his glove, but not his bat.
Geez I wish Buxton was 1/2 as good as his hype.
Was just going to say that its been a bad day for the “Buston” crowd..
Sano has to hit .270 with 300 hr and 100 RBIs before hes no longer considered a bust. Much of the same for Buxton.
League batting average is .244 by the way

Come on Dutch. He’s one of the only guys producing on the team. It’s Cruz, Sano and then a HUGE dropoff.

Sano has an above league average batting average (.248), OBP of.347, and translating this year to a full year he’d be on pace for 26 hrs. wRC+ of 138 and OPS+ 143. Not to mention, he leads the league in average exit velocity at 97.0 mph (next best in the league is Tatis at 95.9).
Oh, but he strikes out more than anyone else so he automatically isn’t any good despite putting up well above league average numbers almost every single season hes played in.

See, you two do have something you agree on.
Question, do they break that exit velocity down between fastballs and say sliders & cutters? My old eyes tell me he hasn’t touched either since he weighed 150 lbs.
Ok guys, what else do you agree on?
Question, do they break that exit velocity down between fastballs and say sliders & cutters?
Sure do.
vs fastballs (which includes cutters)- batting .299 with an exit velocity of 97.9 mph
vs offspeed- batting .240 with an EV of 87 mph
vs breaking balls- batting .159 with an EV of 88.9 mph
Again, nitpick all you want but the proof is in the pudding. Sano has been a well above average hitter for 5 of his 6 seasons with the Twins. This year is up there with his rookie year as his best
So when forced to swing at a fastball he’s pretty good. When getting to swing at a off speed breaking ball, not so much? Is that what the numbers show? So, much like nearly everybody else when there are runners on base and the pitcher is forced to pitch to him he has a chance. Got it.
Sign him to a $400 million 10 year deal now before he gets away.

If Vanilla Joe got 300, not unreasonable for Big Mig to get at least 500.
Tom Seaver passed today. Doubtful the young people here will never see another pitcher like him.
Rest in Peace Mr. Seaver.
