Rocco over manages more than any manager in history. It’s painful to watch and blows up in his face more times than not. Especially when it’s bullpen moves.

Well that’s analytical baseball for you.
I’m sure I just invited TBRO back into the thread.

I like Romo and his fire. Wish he had a few more pitchers like that.

Don’t get to worked up guys. They are still a pretty good ball club. Hoping to see big mike, Buston, and Donaldson back soon.

Key series coming against the White Sux. Need to step on their throats and remind them of their place.

Grown up a twins fan from day 1. If they skip one more game because of this bs im done. Bunch of over paid babies can’t play cause another god damn thug is being immortalized. If your a construction worker, mechanic or anyone else can you just say I’m not working now cause I don’t wanna. You gonna have a job tomorrow? Doubt it.

So, all of you who say you are done with pro sports because they are protesting by not playing. So you can protest (exercise your rights / opinion) but the athletes can’t? Why? Because they have more talent? More money? They have the same rights to their opinions as each of us do. They are doing what they believe to be the right thing. If their employers don’t care who are we to say they are to shut up & play?

I see a bunch of internet reactions with very little substance. EVERYBODY is entitled to their opinion. What separates people is how they choose to express their opinion.

if they wanted to prove a point they would walk away from the whole season. this is nothing but a publicity stunt that means zero. this BS is getting real old real fast and the fans are not even batting an eye…..later dudes.

With the forecast in Detroit today they might not even play today, so back to back double headers tomorrow and Sunday. More pressure on the pithing. Or I’d be up for a triple header tomorrow. Maybe 3 5-innings games. Hah! The first ever.

As much as it pains me, I agree Dutch jester

I think its safe to say that the majority of people support PEACEFUL protests, skipping one ballgame is about as peaceful as it gets. It obviously doesn’t mean nothing because due to the anger and conversations it’s started.
Eyeguy, if I understand you’re done with baseball due to skipping one game but say they should cancel the entire season if they want to send a message. Maybe fans aren’t batting an eye because it’s just one baseball game. The things going on today affect many folks deeply while possibly seeming trivial to others. That doesn’t mean their feelings are unwarranted.

I have zero tolerance for the violence we’re seeing but the peaceful stuff, well, that’s an American right.

I am not done with baseball, I just think that these athletes think that us fans need them for our enjoyment. Missing one game is not making a point really but do your thing. we went 4 months without sports once the invisible enemy showed up and we all survived. I seen some stupid posts NBA players were making on the gram about how we need sports. absolutely preposterous! every questionable incident that occurs, you know they will find a way to throw that race card into it.

That thud you heard was the Twins falling from 1st to 3rd after getting swept in a double header in Detroit.

Second thud was Dobnak getting lit up for 12 hits in 4 1/3.

I saw this implosion from the pitching staff coming. The only pitchers on the staff that can locate their pitches over the last three weeks are Maeda and Duffey. It’s finally starting to hurt them. Worst team in baseball (maybe tied for worst) mopped the floor with us yesterday.

A majority of our pitching staff throws 91….or less. This is a problem in today’s game IMO.

I get the argument but I disagree. A guy throwing 96 MPH will still get rocked if he isn’t hitting his spots. It helps to throw hard but I would argue it’s much easier to get hitters out these days if you can throw junk and locate. Guys are sitting dead red on fastballs and just looking to hit home runs. Off speed with location will get most of them to swing and miss just as much as a 95+ fastball.

Very true, but it seems our guys aren’t hitting the zone, thus batters just need to sit and wait for the slow cheese to come in on a favorable count.

I’d take a Greg Maddux any day, but those guys are far and few.

Under the previous regime, I would have agreed with you 100%. this team actually has a bunch of guys that throw gas. Berrios can touch 95, Duffy, Mays, Alcala and Rogers all throw 95-99. Once Big Mike gets here, he throws right up there too. the offense has been sputtering of late and this mediocre pitching staff can only carry them so long. ya aint going to win scoring 2 freakin runs a game

During the game today, Bremer said the Yankees are interested in Clevinger from Cleveland. It would be neat to see him with short hair!! The Twins will sit on their hands. They’ll get beat in the playoffs by a team with better pitching. When will they learn. Tom Kelly said back in the late 80s it’s all about pitching.

FYI the Indians ain’t trading mophead to a team in their division. The game has changed since the 80’s Netguy. small ball is extinct and thankfully so. watching the Tigers series, this team needs bats not arms. another game, another 2 runs and another loss…just brutal to watch

Another thing they need to stop doing is running Thorpe out there. I don’t know what happened to this kid but he is awful right now.

About 10 minutes ago I was going to tune in to watch the end of the game. WTF, the game was over. 2 hours and 41 minutes. A lot better than the 4 1/2 hour marathons earlier in the year.

It is not the pitching that is losing the games for us. The Twins haven’t scored more than 3 runs in a week. They couldn’t even score more than 2 runs against Tigers pitchers that had 7+ ERAs! Something needs to change with our offense.

They like being “The Bombas” when the juiced ball flew out of the parks. Now you only have the “juicer” (Cruz) who can consistently blast one. The other thing is with the short season and everybody making the play-offs there is no urgency to win. If they can scratch out 10 more wins they are play-off bound.

Clevinger to the Padres. Mike Minor to the A’s…Robbie Ray to the Jays…Sound like Twins have interest in bringing back Lance Lynn.

I think Rocco needs to shove his boot up some behinds and get these guys playing again. He drives me crazy. Mr Monotone. No emotion, boring as hell. I don’t think this guy could get a group of steroid tigers up for a fight. Definitely went to the Crash Davis school of interviewing. Rant over.

For all you small ball haters…….A bit ironic we got beat by Mr Smallball and his squad all weekend eh…..

Maybe if the Twins played some of that pointless small ball they’d actually have guys on base when they hit a HR. Might as well be small ball when all you do is hit solo HRs.
