First game I get to watch (because it’s on regular TV) and Bieber is throwing darts. Ugh. Hope they can figure him out and soon……

They have to stay with-in a bloop & a bomb or the Cleveland pitching will shut them down. Can’t get 4 or 5 behind to these guys.

You can, but not when Shane Bieber is pitching. He might be the best pitcher in the league. Absolutely throwing darts out there. 14 strike outs in 6 innings on opening day and at least 8 I think so far tonight. They need to get to the bullpen to have a shot.
And Littell needs to stop sucking so hard.
July 30, 2020 at 8:19 pm #1961730Exactly why challenges suck. It just grinds a game to a halt. Give them 15 seconds or move on.
July 30, 2020 at 8:25 pm #1961735Buxton with a diving catch in the gap! Kept them in the game , now they need to score a run

Only 3 hits but cant locate anything and falls behind in the count. Had Lindor 0-2 and leaves one right there for him. 96 pitches in 5 innings.
Meanwhile, Bieber is pissing bullets out there. 11 Ks in 88 pitches through 7. Yikes. 2-0 feels like it outta be 12-0.

More like playoff batters. Not aggressive at all and can’t adjust to a curveball in the dirt no matter how many times they see it. Bieber is that good but they should’ve been able to adjust a little.

Watching that game last night you would think after the 6th or 7th K they would realize that the curveball in the dirt is coming…
August 1, 2020 at 9:02 pm #1962234Other than the Bieber game the Twinks are doing well. Even the fat kid got into the act tonight.

I know there’s contracts and money rules but It’d be nice if more games were on channel 9 since fans aren’t allowed at the park.

Internet connection? Streams are free if you look.
August 3, 2020 at 4:23 pm #1962623The pitching has been the most surprising. Now if they’d stop hurting their lady parts and stay off the 10 day DL we’d really be in business. If they keep giving Dobnak starts he’s going to boot one of them out of the rotation.
August 3, 2020 at 4:33 pm #1962627Pleasantly surprised to see Maeda’s success, hopefully he can prove to be worth the cost. I was and am a big Graterol fan, he’s got crazy stuff.

I have to say I was not heartbroken to see him leave. He won’t be anything more than a reliever long term. While Maeda doesn’t throw 100 he has great stuff and can locate, something Graterol cannot do. Maybe it will come together for him but I think it was the right move. Especially with how our bullpen has shaped up without him.
August 3, 2020 at 8:04 pm #1962668Only a 60 game season can protect this bullpen.
I think they’re coming into their own. This started halfway through last year with May, Duffey, Rogers and others. It’s not that small of a sample size. I just read today that Duffey has allowed a run in only one of his last 31 appearances. That trio has been among the best relievers in baseball over the last calendar year.
August 3, 2020 at 8:12 pm #1962670The question isn’t do they have the talent. It could be argued they do. The question is will they get burned up like they do every year. This 5-6 innings and the call to the pen gets them every year.
Hence……Only a 60 game season can protect them.
August 3, 2020 at 8:17 pm #1962672Previously I mentioned I thought the Fat Kid had slimmed down some. Maybe it was the uniform at the time, maybe a optical illusion.
RipjiggenPosts: 11792August 4, 2020 at 7:40 am #1962715was fun to watch the “covid walk-off celebration” last night!
Pirates Manager – I understand not wanting to load the bases for a pitcher with control issues, but why on earth would you pitch to the hottest player sofar this season?
August 8, 2020 at 10:28 pm #1963582So Byron Buxton has homered 3 games in a row, coincidentally, we’ve lost all 3!!! Sorry Buxton fan club, had to! I hope he keeps it up, and the team figures out the yips they’ve got right now.
August 9, 2020 at 10:24 am #1963632Pitching has been brutal the last three games. Lots of bullpen games and Odo very rusty, understandably. Can’t lose to the Royals though. Sucks. Good to see Buxton driving the ball.
August 10, 2020 at 8:28 pm #1963961A slam by Rosario and decent pitching by Dobnik again. So far so good. 4-1
August 10, 2020 at 8:46 pm #1963965I’ve been happy with what baseball teams have done to make broadcasts feel normal, like fake noise and cardboard fans, but for some reason I’m really liking the Brewers’ approach of just having empty seats behind the plate. Maybe it’s just something different that I like.
Their uniforms are also pretty sharp.
August 10, 2020 at 9:31 pm #1963980Don’t get too excited. Got another bullpen game tomorrow. Man I hate those.
August 11, 2020 at 9:48 am #1964033They will have an embarrassment of riches when Pineda comes back and grampa Hill finally gets off his rocker!
Hopefully Pineda is mixing in a salad from time to time?August 11, 2020 at 12:27 pm #1964099Who would have guessed Dobnak would be the anchor of the staff? Certainly not me! Still don’t think they have the starters for a playoff run, but pretty fun team to watch.

Anchor? 3-1 with a 0.90 Era I would say our Cy Young candidate.
