Has anyone been down to Mark Twain lately. I’m going down on April 30th. This should be a banner year for that lake. I’ve heard that the limits that are comming in are all in the 11 to 13 inch range with some two pounders being caught.

Bigmuddy,I guess water temps are still cold at Twain 49 degrees as of this morning. Sounds like to me fish are being caught both shallow & deep. We are also going down to Twain on May 1st-4th. Have you checked out Cannon Dam Cabins website. they update fishing reports almost daily. we have rooms at Cannon dam cabins. Good people plus they open at 5am. Give me shout back. Warm weather coming should help us catch fish!!! Later, Phil

Yes I have looked at Cannon Dam. I also look at Southfork Resort fishing report and Salt River. We have a friend who has a trailer near Stoutsville and lets us stay for 10 bucks a night. If you see me down there stop and say hello. I have a light brown Xpress boat with a 150 Johnson on the back. I’ll be there From April 30th thru May 3rd. Were going to fish up around Stoutville the first two days, then down closer to the dam Sat. and Sun.

    Bigmuddy,
I’ll be in Lowe Roughneck with a 70 Johnson. I live near Galesburg in Abingdon, IL. Sounds like a nice deal with your bud having that trailer. Will you be bass fish’n or crappie fish’n. Sounds like the water is pretty cloudy right now, but water warming daily. Good Luck Phil

I’ll strictly be Crappie fishing. This last warm spell down there should be movin’ them. Water temp went up about 4 or 5 degrees in a week. I’ll keep an eye out for you. Good Luck.

Talked to a couple of places down there yesterday. They said they had four inches of rain over the weekend. The creek arms are starting to muddy up. It’s going to rain Thursday and Friday but be nice on Sat. & Sun. Fish shouldn’t care, their already wet! Besides, that’s what they make rain gear for. A wise man once said ” There is no such thing as inclement weather. Just inapropriate clothing.” See Yah!

We should be at the lake by 10am. Friday. We ripped them down there a couple of years ago when conditions were like this. we went to the back of the creek arms fished above the mouths of the creeks the water that was coming into the lake was warmer and thats where the crappies were. Hope we all do some good. Here’s my cell number 309-368-8410 give me a call if you want i’d be happy to share any info if were doing any good. Good luck!
