Turning a Panoptix PS22 Echomap CV73+ unit to a Livescope setup? What's needed?

I like the smaller 7″ Echomap screen for the smaller overall bundle size and battery savings, is it as simple as just buying the Livescope Transducer and black box and plugging it into the same port the PS22 used?? Are any adapter cables or anything else needed?

It mostly is that simple. There is a ice fishing power cord you could get if you that cuts down on the amount of wire for a portable system… but its not necessary.

You will want something to mount the transducer on pole-wise… but there are a lot of easy options there. There are a few mounts that come with the LVS but no pole.

You will need power to the black box. You’ll probably want a bigger lithium battery too.

    I appreciate the responses!

The most I icefish in one sitting is about 4 hours, so a 10AH lithium should be fine for me I would think? Cutting weight is always nice…

I was thinking I could just swap out the old PS-22 mount for the LVS-32 mount on the existing Garmin pole system? I would want to reduce as much clutter as possible, so it sounds like the portable power harness would be required for me.

That cable will definitely help tidy things up. Can I ask where you found that one? Amazon is back-ordered and neither the Scheels east of me or the Cabelas west of me have it so looking to order one.

Not that you asked, but lithium was metioned…I 18v Milwaukee batteries I will be running mine off.

    Everything else should be plug-n-play.

Is there any differences (horsepower or resolution wise) between the 73 & 93 units other than 2″ bigger screen. Would I see any display slowdown or reduced resolution using Livescope with a Echomap 73 vs a Echomap 93?

Both 9″ and 7″ have the same resolution. 800×600. You’d get bigger pixels I suppose, but not more clarity or definition.

I would imagine between a 73sv/93sv that they have the same guts just a different screen… but that’s speculation. I’ve used both (and the 73CV) and they seem the same speed.

Last question I have, does anybody know if the Livescope black box fits easily in the Panoptix Ice Bundle case? Can the case zip shut easily?
