The anticipation is killing me. I have been watching the birds and getting trail cams pics since late February and finally the season is almost here. Heading out tonight to the farm. Get up bright and early and go listen for some gobbles and try and pin down a spot for the first morning hunt. Got the rest of the week and Monday off if needed.

Going to try first with the bow. Have been shooting a bit and it’s all dialed in. I need to get a long beard on the ground with the Hoyt. If all else fails the Nova will be close by to finish the deal

I also have 7 acres of corn and beans to get in the ground and a dozen apples to get in the new orchard, plus some firewood to split load in the trailer. Going to be a very busy fun week at the farm and I JUST CAN’T WAIT!!

Good luck to all hunting season D in MN!!

Good luck out there, hopefully it dries out a bit for you and your hard work/prep pay off. Let us know how you do!

Put the tom to bed on Wednesday night. He was feeding in front of the blind I had set up that late morning due to him being there that morning. He had 6 different hens walk by him headed for bed and he strutted for everyone of them. The next morning I was ready early. Made a few light calls and at 6:10am he is the first one to the field. He saw my decoys, never made a sound and came right in strutting every 20 yards. I put an arrow through the boiler room at 10 yards and my season ended pretty quick. First Tom with the bow for me, I have gotten jakes before with the bow, but all my toms have been with the gun. My adrenaline was really pumping as you can tell from the blurry picture. Even a half hour later I could get myself calmed down enough to hold the camera still

Nice work, with a bow no less! May that feeling never cease. Happy for you, nice bird!
