I was just reading about this in Field and Stream. It talked about caping it at the feathers seam at the top of the wings. Basically you end up with the top of their back attached to the fan. You then salt the skin for display. Has anyone done this? Just wondering how it looks and if it is worth the effort.

I’ve done two. The first one was more of a learning experience but the second turned out great! Its really not hard and once you dry out the cape and bleach it with some borax they turn out pretty cool. After the second one I stuck with doing just the fan. Its easier and I think it looks better with a plaque…Sorry the cape is at my parents place so I cant get a pic right now.
