This last hour waiting for sunrise is dragging. Light snow. Fresh inch on the ground. Hoping to find a bird before the blizzard starts.

    best of luck
i am sitting it out this morning indoors as t-storms continue to rage. looks like a break in the heavy rain from 9 to noon so maybe today wont be a complete wash out.
been a tough season for me so far. got only one tom to work each of the three days and each time when he was almost in range the “real hens” pulled him away.

Good luck Kooty. I hunted yesterday and never saw or heard a bird. Saw some fairly fresh tracks in the snow, but that was it.

25 hens and two toms missed me by 50 yards. Tried getting in front of them but they got off the property. Be back later for them. Lots of snow up here. Very noisy.

Just talked to him…..he’s covered up with birds! Multiple birds to work but they’re sticking together in big groups.

He just set out for some lone toms, but is in ankle-deep snow to do it. Wish him some luck!

Go get ’em Kooty!!! I finally saw some birds here in Northern WI… I wasn’t able to count them all, but betting that there was at least 30 and could’ve been up to 20 more…

I don’t have a tag and by the time I can buy over the counter, its fishing time… So waiting for next year!!!

Called in two this morning off the roost. Missed! Had an awkward position and thought I was steady but pulled it to the left a few inches. Glad the birds wasn’t wounded.

Pic is from yesterday trying to get in front of the same Tom that out maneuvered me thus afternoon. Been an amazing hunt so far.

This is one of my first hunts on my own for Turkeys. Learning so much. The guy in camo keeps following me around.

and i’ve been complaining about a little wind and rain.
cant imagine turkey hunting in that much snow.
i also managed to get my truck stuck … after 6 inches of rain. got the wheeler stuck in the mud, too.
and failed to punch a tag for the first time in six years during the first season.

It was unbelievably challenging. No way to hunt the woods, just field edges around food sources. Which isn’t a bad option when there is 10+ inches of snow on the ground.
