Looks like we are going to have a challenging hunt this weekend. More snow and cold temps predicted.

Who else is hunting Mn season A?

Find a field that is getting manure spread, it certainly doesn’t count as hunting over bait but it is where I am seeing the birds daily.

I’ve got 4 different spots that are high traffic areas in old food plots. Hopefully we can trick a bird into bow range. I’m super pumped to get out in the field!

I am season c and right now that is not even looking good. Sure could use a few bright sunny warm days to get them fired up a little. Heading up this weekend to do some scouting and get a few blinds setup. Hope to at least see or hear a few birds to get a idea of where they are at right now.

Season a for my little guy again, thinking it’s going to be tricky but determined to get him his third!

    Spotty weather throughout the area.
I was near the Wisconsin Dells last weekend processing venison and having some beverages with 5 friends.
3 of them had turkey tags, and they killed 3 birds on opening day between morning and afternoon hunts. This is pretty unusual even by their standards, but they mentioned high bird numbers. They said each bird came into decoy, but were not very vocal.
Sunny days are hopefully just around the corner, even though I feel like I’ve been telling myself that for a couple weeks.

The next 40 deg. day in the forecast for Central minnesota is next Tues. ( One week from today ) I guess that is Minnesota weather. Just a few warm sunny days and the birds would get fired up.

I’ve got A as well, but won’t be able to get to my spot until Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully they will be on the move after this weather blows through.

    Good luck everyone.

Like any trip I take, my mind is not on work these few days prior. Thinking of all the packing I need to do tonight. The colder temps got me looking to my ice fishing gear more than my hunting gear. Tonight I need to setup my blind in the garage and remove the shoot through material(just thought of this). The velcro is so loud, I hate removing it in the field. The crusty snow is going to cause us to make enough noise as it is. I’ll shoot my bow one last time tonight.

I CAN’T WAIT TO HEAR THAT FIRST GOBBLE!!
