I seen a few hunting shows that they used it. The big Toms went crazy around it. If it works as well as it did on several hunting shows – WOW !!!!

I always look to the footage of them using it real-life. A bird that can be killed, at the end of the video, by sitting near (not behind) a scant cactus out in the wide-open (with camera-man) is likely not a very educated bird.

Not all turkeys are created equal…..or lets say, not all turkeys see the same amount of pressure and respond accordingly. There’s always such a thing as a younger/dumber 2 year old that will come strutting in from the furthest distance, trotting the last 100 yards, and willing to let you get away with anything. Is that the bird you’re hunting? Possibly, and it might not be a bad thing. I know I’ve passed up hunting the old birds many a time for the mere hope of finding one that would “play-ball.”

My dominant thought with a decoy like this, is that birds that will respond to this type of decoy, are likely the same types of birds that will come running in to some well-executed calls. Nothing gained or lost by using a decoy in that situation. More concerning however, is how other birds will react, the other ones that aren’t interested in throwing themselves in your lap? I don’t know. Never used one, though have experimented with movement in decoys a number of times/ways.

My true test for calls, blinds, decoys, or really any turkey hunting product is how well it will work in the majority of situations I’m in. Perhaps it’s just the skeptic in me, and I’d love to be proven wrong by killing a few gobblers over one of these myself, but I can kill the stupid ones without a decoy at all! If it helps seal the deal on birds young, old, and everything in-between, then I’m all ears!
