daughter no turkey permit

    turkey permits came today and my oldest daughter was denied my youngest and myself got ours and we have always all three got one, her first choice period was a and we each got b and c I always apply for different periods to give us three weeks of hunting this sucks I dont think I have even heard of anyone getting denied for a long time

    Check online to see if they have record of her applying. It is easy to do. Almost impossible to not get drawn at all.

    yep did that, it was received but not awarded, she was given a preference point instead

    hopefully there will be left over permits available for your area and a time period that will work. I am hopeing myself for extra permits over the counter, I forgot to send in my app. After I reminded everyone else about the deadline

    I also did not get a WI turkey permit. I did get a preferance point like your daughter. This is the first time this has happened to me. I put in for zone 1 period a and b. Good thing I will be able to get an over the counter tag.

    I’m not super familiar with WI drawings so forgive my ignorance. How can you not draw for your preferred season/unit and yet there are leftover tags available? Or are you guys just saying you’ll hunt a later season when there are more leftover tags?

    wiromes thats the exact same thing I applied for for my daughter zone 1 a or b, should be a lock next year with a preference point. kooty, they only issue so many permits per time frame and with a and b being the most popular they sometimes have more applicants than permits.leftover permits begin with season c which there are only about 3000 of them and they will go fast, as you progessively go thru seasons d,e,and f more tags are available as the interest in the later seasons fades. bottom line she will still get to hunt probably season d but we now are left out of season [censored]

    I was denied for Zone 7 and there are 384 permits left for the year and not when I want it, but I will try to get one, other wise getting a permit to hunt any of the other zones I would prefer to hunt is a piece of cake. It just that they interfere with my fishing in the month of May!!!
