My son drew a 3rd season tag(April 25 to May 1)in WI, but because of school break we went down for last weekends youth hunt and he was successful. We had good action on Saturday but nothing in range to shoot other than a big hen.Sunday morning was a repeat of Saturday but Sunday evening he was able to seal the deal with about a 25 yard shot.Talk about an excited 10 year old from Saskatchewan. His turkey weighed 26lbs,had a 9 inch beard and spurs were just under an 1″.I think this was an older bird becuase the spurs were rounded down.My buddy and his wife were both successful on the opening day of the first season with her taking a bird that was 26lbs,9 inch beard ,ans 1″ spurs, and he shot his bird about an hour and half later. It was only 22lbs but had a 11 1/2″ beard and spurs were just over 1 1/4″. All in all we had a great time and my son Hunter is talking about trying to take a turkey next year with the new Mission Craze I bought him

No Kooty that will probably be it for this year have to wait and see how I make out in draws here, although he can hunt deer in WI,but in Saskatchewan he has to wait till he is 12.He loves to hunt he has been going with me since he was three. He has watched me arrow a couple Elk but last year was his favorite we called in a 40″ Bull Moose to 23 yards he came in grunting the whole way,got a complete pass through, got the bull stop within 25 yards of were I shot him and he fell right in front of us.I had never seen a smile on his face that big(until his turkey last weekend).

Well, I have a hard time believing your stories without pics.

I gotta imagine a pass thru on a bull moose is rare. I’m jealous!

Picture setup was not the greatest but he was wedged between trees and it was pretty hard for the 2 of us to move an 1100lbs animal around.

Love it, I’m still mad at the moose for eluding me in 07. Someday I’ll head to Canada to seek my revenge.
