    Great suggestion!

In the interim reduce your price by .05 and I think it
will bring it back to the top.

    waytogo That worked! Thanks.

Report back to us! What are the birds doing in your neck of the woods?

I’m not sure I’ve seen as many birds as active and visible as I have the past two weeks. Hens are yapping incessantly, Toms are actively sparring for dominance, and breeding has been taking place for some time now here. Birds are EXTREMELY vulnerable now, and we’ve called a few in while voice calling of all things. As the season starts, we’ll see some very willing and able toms.

What’s going on in your neck of the woods.

    Thanks!

    Joel

They are really sticking to the big open areas in the timber around my place. They won’t let me sleep in at all constant gobbling outside my bedroom window

It’s been interesting around here. I’m seeing less birds than normal and they don’t seem to be gobbling or moving much in the mid morning to afternoon. I’ve been scouting before work and can hear birds in the roost but they clam up right when they hit the ground. My season is still a ways away but will be tagging along with friends for as many hunts as I can. Hope to see one take a dirt nap soon!

I went out today to set up 2 cameras for the upcoming season at 11 am. Around 11:10 while i was in the woods heading to a spot to put the camera up, I heard a bunch of gobbles in a field to my right About 150 yards away, i saw a Tom strutting in the field. I ended up watching about 4-5 Toms strutting together with about 3-5 hens around them I watched them for about 45 minutes before they disappeared and i was able to get the camera set up

I’m headed to the turkey woods tomorrow AM. Gonna take my two oldest daughters to do some scouting. I can’t wait to get them out in the blind.

Went out this morning sat on the edge of the field at 6:50 the tom flew down off the roost and at 7:00 am he hit the ground. No calling and/or decoys pretty neat. Once he landed in the field he gobbled about a dozen times while walking my direction. Scouted him out the day before he was going to the same exact spot in the field he was at the morning before. Goodluck!

Birds had been slow through the weekend into the week. Finally saw birds, but couldn’t roost Wed. night and one of my turkey hunting fanatics had a tom go Thur. a.m. behind his house… This warmer weather in the northern part of the world is hopefully waking them back up!!! We think the aforementioned tom is in my refrig awaiting a good cooking tonight!!!

They crummy weather yesterday had the birds hunkered down most of the day. I went to roost a new spot on a East slope… apparently they were all on the down wind side too! I had 7 going in unison within 200yds…. This morning would have been perfect to set up below them. They all ended up in the field below and there was more toms than hens…. Next week can’t some soon enough! Hope to have the area all to myself..

Sounds like you got birds ready for the pickin’!!! ‘Bout the time you start, something different will happen… Good Luck on ’em though!!!

I’m seeing Toms still grouped up on hens. Pretty much everywhere I’ve been scouting in Richland Center area and here near watertown is the same story. 3 to 10 hens with 3 to 5 toms strutting. For whatever reason, this year I’m having a miserable time drawing a tom away from the hens OR calling in a hen or two for the toms to follow. They seem so content to pop their head up to look at a decoy or give a few purrs and keep on their unpredictable path. Previous years I’ve had great success with calling in the hens and having the toms follow.
Also did a few sets with my Pretty boy in different configurations from breeding to strutting….had more of a negative reaction than positive
With the weather we had last weekend and a slight chjance of storms forecasted, I had clients cancel and not want to risk being in the rain or storms – too bad since Sat was such a beautiful day. In the fiield outside my window, 7 hens and 3 toms showing their stuff. – Family crisis came up and will need to forfeit going with my daughter this weekend for her regular season. Looks like she’ll have to wait another year to get her tom with her bow
