Early spring, early breeding

    I believe animals in general relate more to the amount of daylight than weather, but that’s not to say they can’t/won’t be a bit early this year.

    As for changing the way I hunt. Yes, the early seasons will be much like mid-late season with all the foliage that is already sprouting.

    In the last two weeks I have noticed a considerable less amount of hens in the fields around me. I was out scouting from dawn to 9:30 this morning and found a lot of hens sitting on nests in raspberry brush and downed tree tops. Most of what I have ever read tells me that this shouldn’t have happened….but to me the proof is in what I witness!
