Wow. So do you think this is a cross-breed with a farm raised bird or do they naturally occur in the wild?

I have NEVER seen a grey tom Maybe a cross with a white domestic turkey that would be a good guess

about 15-20 years ago there were some wild turkeys in my area that had white wings and fans. The bodies were kind of a reddish brown color. I personally saw two hens and one adult tom. One hen and the adult tom were eventually harvested. The DNR claimed they were just a genetic anomoly, not a wild/domestic hybrid. My former boss shot a albino tom near Ettrick, WI in that same time period. The only thing that wasn’t white was the head, the beard and the feet.

I’d say this bird is wild. The best way to tell is the length of the legs. Wild birds have long, lanky legs. Domestic birds have stubby legs. Same with the beards. Wild=big beard, tame=stubby beard.

Lots of cool things in nature!

What a trophy! Would look sweet as a full body mount for sure. Congrats to the hunter!

A few years ago I was headed to work and there was a grey/white turkey in full strut in the ditch. I saw him at least once more but never heard of anyone shooting him.
    Looked awesome in full strut

These 3 birds have been hanging out for about a month now. Any idea if they’re wild or crossed with domestic birds?

    All 3 are hens.

There were some crossbred turkeys out by Oxbow in Byron for a few years. There were a chocolate brown in color. If I remember right the DNR had them destroyed.

That grey tom is amazing looking.
