Are you sick and tired of carrying all of that hunting gear while you go turkey hunting? Well I have finally found a solution.

Last year I came across a new product for turkey hunting – it’s called “a personal turkey sherpa”. For the most part I’m somewhat satisfied with it. It will go a long ways if you put a lot of fuel in it and keep it very hydrated. However, I wish they would put a mute button on it because it does get to be very loud and makes a lot of weird noises from both ends. I also found out that I needed to use a lot of scent killer spray on it. Not because turkeys can smell but you will certainly appreciate it once you get in the blind.

I must warn you that it’s not cheap to maintain but it’s better than what I was using before.

I know what you’re asking, “Well, where can I find one?” I found mine on Craig’s List and the ad said something about “will work for food”. That was a lie – the ad should have said “will work for a lot of food and liquid”. So look there first and remember it’s usually a one and done type of deal.

    I think he’s missing a couple of things –
    1. Scale to weigh the birds
    2. Running shoe’s to track down dem runnin turkeys
    3. Bottle opener

The price went up this year!! More food and liquid will be required + more snacks in the blind.

Everyone notice what all I’m carrying!! Now picture what Brad is carrying. I swear it was nothing but a digital camera and a shotgun. As we crest the hill Brad spots some birds. He says to get down and be quiet. How one sits with all this stuff is beyond me. He starts calling to the birds. Sure enough not 50 yards behind us a Tom comes strolling in. He looks at me like “What is that blob of machinery doing there?” He left the county shortly there after. Brad stands up and says I could have shot him! As we get ready to move down on the first birds spotted, Brad attemps to eject the shell from the chamber. Guess who forgot to load his shotgun. Until you’ve dry fired on a bird, you’ll never know just how loud and lonely that sound really is.

I never squeezed the trigger and there was no attempt. Yes – I would have shot but my personal turkey sherpa was could not get the tom in the camera lens (again).

I didn’t say you pulled the trigger, but I wish you would have!!

Can’t wait for more laughs and shenanigans this spring! I’m bringing my pink box call this year just to prove to Joel I can call a bird in with it.

The term “sherpa” would indicate he’s guiding you in some way shape or form, which is true if you consider taking you to the dark side “guiding”. That pink box call will put turkeys at your doorstep, use it this year!

Already looking forward to some fun-filled days in the blind with family and friends. Here’s to spring, the real hunting season!

Hmm – better than what he was “using” before. IT WAS ME!
Thank you Kooty! – however, he made me carry the shotgun too, and didn’t feed me
