This is a rough guess. In good shape, I would think $130-$150 each.

I used to run the Abu Garcia 6500 with line counters. The line counter is of poor quality and they are forever going to give you problems. I owned four of them at one time and they constantly wear out batteries. After a year or so, they don’t stay programmed either. Frustrating is what they were.
The Abu Garcia 6500 reel on the other hand is very reliable and durable. Love that reel!
I would say the setups are worth in the neighborhood of $80 to $90 per setup depending on how old they are and the shape they are in.

Thanks for the input guys. With the electronic linecounters I realize they will go through some batteries. If I turn them off after I let out line will I use much battery? The guy is asking 350 for these three rods. What would you say? He is telling me that I would be paying for the rods and getting the reels free. I know some of you guys do way more of this buying/selling than I do so please let me know.
The telescopic rods sold new for about $70 at most stores. Yes the don’t make them any more. You stated that the other rod was an Abu Garcia rod? If so it is very old or a cheap give away. Find out what the rod is. The reels new were about $100 a piece with the line counter. I have a new line counter stil in the package if some one wants it. I know that these prices are very close since I rep for Abu Garcia and Berkley.
I guess if I wanted them bad enough, I would give him $350. If I could take em or leave em, I would offer $275 and stand firm. Good Luck

No way would I give him that much for 3 used rods and reels.
Sorry, just my opinion!
Give Dean at Everts Resort a call. I’ll bet he can set you up with three brand new rigs of similar length for close to the same price.
Even if he can’t, its worth you time and cost you nothing to check.

As mine was just an opinion, sorry. I guess you said $80-$90 depending on shape, I don’t think I have seen them, so $275 isn’t that far from your opinion, $90 x 3 = $270.

Hey big G,
The quoted price below is what I was referring too.
I should have been more precise as to which price I was talking about. Sorry about that!

I always figure that if the price difference between used equipment and new equipment isn’t big enough, then the new equipment is the way to go. In this case, if I had to spend another $100 or so to get three brand new rods rigged with good reels, then thats what I would do.
At least then I would know exactly what I was getting and most likely would be able to get a full replacement if anything was wrong with the rods or reels.

No problem. It is always hard trying to figure what something used is worth. It always comes down to what somebody will pay. I agree, buying new, you can expect a little more, as far as any warranty or future problems. For a hondo more, I would be calling Dean at Everts

Haters! But only for a short while. Get your fix this year and you’ll be wondering why it took so long!
