How many of you have ever placed a blind in the wide open field like they do on Tv. I have some spots I’d like to try but have a hard time believing the birds won’t spook. Looking for some input from common hunters. thanks.

We put one in the middle of corn field last week and they didn’t seem to mind one bit. To our knowledge (from the landowner) there had never been a blind in the field before, so it’s not like it was a common thing. That was my only experience using a blind for turkeys, but I wont hesitate to do it next year if the situation warrants.

I agree with the others above – turkeys pay no attention to blinds. It’s all about movement.

By all means do not be afraid to place the blind in the middle of the field! Like all have said, they pay no attention to the blind at all. With deer you should put the blind out early so they get use to it, but with the turks you can put it out that morning and they won’t notice.

My daughter shot another tom last week using a blind in the middle of a field. We have shot several toms using this set up.

Pat, I just had her sign up on the website last night. She will post the pics and story…Hopefully tonight after she helps me lime and fertilize the food plots.
