Passed on some Jakes

    Had a chance to Turkey Hunt in the North Metro this last weekend. We had 2 Jakes at 30 yards, 1 with a 3″ beard, the other with a 1.5″ beard. I have chosen to use my BOW; and am trying to fill my tag with a Mature Tom. I am using the same philosophy as deer hunting – let em grow. You can’t shoot a mauture tom if he can’t get out of being a jake. I have a few days left, hopefully I will get an encounter with a Mature Tom Turkey. Good Luck to everyone!
