Well, this wasn’t exactly the trophy I envisioned when I started my season, but it’s unique. I shot this hen last night just before dark. She has an 8″ beard that is pretty full. I am considering getting her mounted. If you mounted a bearded hen, what kind of pose would you get? Any recommendations for a good turkey taxidermist in NW Wisconsin, or close to the cities?

What’s with the bearded hens this year? Congrats on a great looking bearded hen though. I guess I would just have the hen mounted like she was on alert and looking around…that way you can really see the beard.

I’ve never seen a hen with a beard that good. It’s pretty full as well, most of them are pretty thin. They’re all trophies in my book, definitely would be an interesting bird to get mounted!
