Thank you for posting this. I have kids and this will be nice to have. I always worry about things like this. It makes me mad that people do this. But that’s a touchy subject. I won’t get into it.

Thanks for the links Brad I know these are for level 3 and only registered but still very useful. I just found out the park by our house had a non-registered sex offender watching kids. Our friends sons were playing and approached by a “wierd man” the next day same guy there asking them questions they got out of their and got home safely. The cops arrested the guy and now he is out again and roaming the streets because he is a level 2. Scares the living *$&% out of with 2 young kids.
March 26, 2008 at 2:29 pm #563961There are currently no level 3 offenders in my area but that still doesn’t make me feel safe with a 7 year old girl and a 5 year old boy.

Wow Jason, I never knew that our kids were so close in age: My girl is 8 and my boy is 5 also.March 26, 2008 at 2:54 pm #556197Wow, there are only 28 that come up when searching the city of Hudson zip code (54016). Granted, many of them are listed multiple times using slightly different names. And Hudson isn’t what I would consider a very big town either. Thanks for posting this info Brad.
March 26, 2008 at 2:57 pm #552394Oh, that makes me feel great that there’s a perv that lives next to the park down the street.
Thank God I don’t have kids yet.
March 26, 2008 at 3:08 pm #548629Is there a map that you can see these guys at not just click on the pic and tells you information???
March 26, 2008 at 3:11 pm #507152the family watchdog one will have a map will all registered sex offenders in that zip code or what your search is and click the dot and comes up with picture and more information
March 26, 2008 at 4:51 pm #531866Thats crazy one of them works at my work, I would have never known. Thanks
March 26, 2008 at 5:04 pm #533039Good information. It appears my friend lives about 5 houses away from one. I knew there was an offender in the neighborhood, but never that close. On a side not, our city did a great job of informing everyone about him moving in. They had public meetings and sent out information.
timmyPosts: 1960March 26, 2008 at 5:31 pm #532106This all seems like a huge waste of money and resources to me.
Wouldn’t a $100 tatoo of “sex offender” right across their forehead be cheaper, clearer, and eliminate the need for any registry?
Tim
March 26, 2008 at 5:36 pm #523592I say forehead, front and back of both hands and a tight rubber band around the personal region. Ah heck, why waste that much money. For $.23 they can all be saved. One quick shot to the guts.
March 26, 2008 at 5:37 pm #530571sounds wrong in a sense but in another if you do something to that degree….well maybe it would be the best way of fixing the problem as it stands
March 26, 2008 at 5:45 pm #531680Can someone explain what “Registered Sex Offender” means. I read these reports in the paper where a convict is release from prison but fails to “Register”. WTF does that mean? They should march thier sorry butts over to the register office and get it done automatically! Or do I not understand the ptrocess? To me, that site tracks the registered sex offenders. What about the UN-registered offenders. Those are the ones to really worry about!

March 26, 2008 at 5:52 pm #530118Jon that is what happened with the one that was by our house. They were unregistered, until he got arrested and is now registered. The problem is many don’t register because they don’t want to be tracked…I think they should be tracked from the release date with a homing/gps device of some sort that the state can track no matter what…We have a community forum on April 10th and I will be asking that plus more questions to the police dept and others that will be there.
timmyPosts: 1960March 26, 2008 at 5:56 pm #530122If I had a say in tracking the level three offenders upon release, it would be very, very simple. In fact it would be a short tracking job………..
Until then, I say lets do the face/forehead tatooing…..

March 26, 2008 at 6:26 pm #527508Not a funny subject here, but i couldn’t pass up this information.
I typed in my home address where i grew up and my parents live, and no joke, there is a sex offender classified as “other” and he lives on a sheep farm, no joke. I’m not making this up!
March 26, 2008 at 7:33 pm #504586Jon,
Once someone is convicted of certain offenses a condition of their release is they must register with the Dept of Corrections and continue to notify them when changes in residence and employer occur. This is an order from a judge similar to probation. The issue lies with not enough resources to keep track of them should they fail to notify the DOC of an address change. Personally I have mixed feelings about the registries. On one hand as a parent, I want my kids protected from predators. On the other hand, these people have usually done their time or punishment and deserve a chance to rebuild their lives. Branding one as a sex offender paints with a broad stroke. It lumps child rapists along with people convicted of inappropriate touching and other things. Some people have been attacked by their neighbors based on registry surfing.

IN MN only level 3 and worse get registered. These are bad people – the people I would have no problem being the judge, jury, and hangman for if they touched my son. And I am wholeheartedly serious about that.

AMEN!!!!!
Truth be told, they are mentally challenged and should be locked up in a sanitarium for the duration of their life. Treated no different than a rabid dog.
March 26, 2008 at 8:01 pm #506977It changes from state to state whom is required to register. Keep in mind that the ones that have registered are doing what the court told them to. The ones that bug out are the scary ones. A large number of sex offenses go unreported.

I say give them a fair trial, then hang them. Not necessarily in that order as trials are expensive, rope isn’t! I must admit that may be a bit radical so my second choice is to unhang them if you know what I mean!
March 26, 2008 at 8:36 pm #499576Whiskerkev,
I can understand what your saying, not to get in an arguement or anything, but these people bring it on themselves. Now it’s different if the person (male or female) is let’s say 18 and the other person is 16. And they consent to this. I don’t think that person should be labeled as a sex offender. But if a grown person is touching a child in the wrong places then people should know. It’s a sickness these people have. And they should be watched. I have 3 young boys (14,11, and 7 months),and I worry about them every day. I for sure want to know if someone is out there. Do you remember Dru Sadean (name misspelled)? Well I knew a few of her friends (they went to a clinic I work at) and they wore buttons with her face on it, and this guy that killed her was a level 3 sex offender. It just makes me sick, why a grown adult or anyone of any age would want to touch a child in the wrong places. It’s gross and it makes a child feel like they’ve done something wrong, when it wasn’t even their fault. People like this should be treated in a whole different way.March 26, 2008 at 8:45 pm #497306People are passionate about their own interests. Had they been wealthy and able to afford a good attorney they likely wouldn’t have had that level of conviction. Another side would be what if it was you that had the conviction or someone in your family. I guess I feel all situations should be looked at as unique to that case. Say one lived next door to you, what would you do? Warn the kids the boogy man lives there. Knowledge is power I guess but the convicted murderer that lives next door might be just as dangerous and you wouldn’t know about him or her.
March 26, 2008 at 9:01 pm #481850whiskerkev,
I can understand what you’re saying, but what if it was your child that is happened too? Or what if it happened to you? Like I said, it’s a sickness. Either it be this or murder, I would still like to know. I (in my opinion) want to know about both, not just sex offenders.wkwPosts: 730March 26, 2008 at 9:25 pm #481755Alot of these sex offenders are pretty savvy about switching states, etc. to avoid being tracked. The ones that tick me off also are the “internet pedators” that lure children into the world of porn, etc. And it is a very organized network of these guys that just prey on the young. To me they are the scum of the earth!! I’m getting madder the longer I type this reply.
One night over a couple of beers, a friend and I discussed starting an organization called FACE (Fathers Against Child Exploitation). We thought that all Dads would eagerly join and support it. Funding through membership fees, etc. to start an independant tracking method of following these creeps. What y’all think? Lord knows our current gov’t can’t keep track of anything.
WKWP.S. Glad my kids are all safely grown up and on their own.
