About a month ago I got talked into trying this head out for turkey’s. If you haven’t seen it, it looks similar to the guillotine head that is designed for head shots on turkeys. The guy that talked me into giving them a try happens to be a local Magnus sales rep. A good salesman that he is, he told about how accurate the head is down range and how easy they are to tune. He even showed me a video of the Mangus crew splitting cucumbers at 50 yards with this head.
Having an archey tag for South Dakota this year I decided what the heck I’ll give em a try. Totally expecting it to be a nighmare just to get these things to fly right. Boy was I wrong. Had my bow tuned on center by a local pro. Slapped on a Magnus Buzzcut 125 grain head onto my (cut long) carbon express 350’s with 4, 4 inch feather flechings. Took 3 shots to zero in my 10 yard pin and it shot X’s through paper, stepped back to 20 yards, same pin hit the same spot. Put the Bullhead on the arrow, shot at 10 and 20 yards with the same result. I couldn’t believe how well they flew. I’ll be stepping back to 30 yards this week and flingin a few more but I expect much of the same result. I’m pumped to take my first head shot at a SD thunder chicken in a few weeks.
I was really skeptic about these at first but I sure am glad I took the time to give em a try cause I’m hooked already and haven’t let one go at bird yet. They have video’s on their website if you want to check em out.

They look to fly better at range than the old guillotines, but I’d still keep the shots inside the 30 yard line or so. One thing I found out when trying those heads out was how much a turkey’s head really moves!!! Takes a particular mood and calmness for their head to be still for long.

Good luck, looking forward to hearing how it goes!!!

Point being these heads are suppose to be accurate far beyond the guillotine heads. Practicing at 50 makes shots at 10 a cake walk. From what I’ve heard/read that isn’t an option when using the guillotines.

I plan on decapitating them at 5.
