Anyone practicing their calling yet?

The hens were pretty vocal this morning, as I did some roadside listening. Heard a few tricks this morning that got the toms fired up.

Reminds me to practice calling some more! Anyone else been calling?

Every day for the last couple weeks.

One of the perks of driving 1/2 hr each way to work.

I have been seeing a few turkeys hit on the highways recently. I wonder if the Tom’s are out searching; never to early I guess.

Hey Joel…is it bad that I haven’t even dug mine out yet and I leave for NE in less than a week!! There coming out this weekend though! Six days to practice should be just enough to scare the birds silly when I get there…

The blood got pumping this morning for me. Saw my first 3 Toms strutting and birddogging some hens…IT’S ON!!

Bet a bugle would work as good as a “squeeling hen”

Holy cow…we have a Drelan30 siting. Must be turkey season! Been hitting the calls every now and then! Need to knuckle down now that it’s only a few weeks away.

My diaphram calls have been in the car for about a week now. Sure makes me laugh when I hear myself cussing the car that cut me off with one in my mouth.

Whats a call? It would be hard for me to drive using my box call, or throwing up while gagging on a diaphram!
