I am not upset…. just like a laugh now and then Thanks. You know, you can wire your own stuff, if you have someone who knows what they are doing help you. I helped do my brothers, and brother in laws basements. None of us were licensed.

Ok – sorry about that response then Big G. It just sounded like you were offended. So I apologize. Yes – I guess you are right about just needing someone who knows what they are doing so they don’t need to be licensed. On that note if anyone out here even knows what they are doing and want to earn a little extra money let me know. Thanks.

Any turkey-day resolutions for this year? I don’t know about you, but the mistakes I make out there are ones that I seemed to have learned before yet somehow continue to make.

Thinking back on last season – here are a few of mine:

-I will not “force” a setup – making a tom come to where I know he won’t like to go (again)
-I will not announce my presence to a pinned-down tom unless I’m certain I can kill him from where I’m at or a very nearby (sneak-able) location
-I will not let gobbling toms on roost (or lack thereof) override what I’ve learned from my scouting

After getting a few under my belt with shotgun. I vowed to hunting stricly with bow from here on out. So after my one archery season I tried in the past what I plan to do differently is bring more arrows. Ain’t no joke!

    Great post Joel!

Since we are trying to get some bow kills on film, I will be shooting through a mesh screen out of my Covert Blind. It just increases your odds of not being detected when you draw back your bow.

If I work a tom in the morning and he doesn’t commit, I’m going to hunt him in the evening trying to intercept him at his roosting location.

I will scout and scout and scout some more before the start of my season.

I am with Coppertop, bring more arrows! I have vowed after last fall that if I can make it out its going to be with the bow. This time it should be better being able to call them in closer rather than trying to sneak up on them in the wet snow, although I should have had one for my efforts last fall.

I have my eye on 2 different double bearded giants!

I will not shoot underneath the bird at 20 yards…embarrassing.

Go to bed early every night.

Not get caught up chasing one gobbler.

    Use the bow more.

    Take the wife with.

Keep a Daily Journal about the hunts, and take lots of pictures!

Get as many newbies addicted to this sport as I can!!

Brad if you’re going to be filming, I would rethink your plan with the mesh. You’ll have much more appealing footage without the mesh.

I do not intend to film through the mesh. One window in the blind will remain open for the camera and the shooter will shoot through another window with mesh.

    Nice bird SLACK…and Blind!

I guess the thing I’ll do different this year is taking my daughter with me. She has yet to see a turkey kill as she usually went with her mother.

Also, I’ll be prepared better…taking both shot gun and bow along just in case ol Tommy doesn’t want to come in!

I’d quit hunting if I ever came out of the woods at the end of 6 week turkey season and didn’t have anything I would change.

I actually do have one this year Joel. I’m going to try my best to put down the fishing rod and arrow one this year! It just might be one of your pets as well! No hard feelings.

Wake GMAN up 45 minutes before we leave in the morning so he can before we go. Sick of hearing him growl and spray dirt in the dark, its not even human…….

I’ve already locked down permission on that farm for turkeys. Besides, what’s one more pet of mine you’ve killed?

Next year can you put out a pepper block so we don’t have to season the veni at all?
What will the Turkey be pre-seasoned with?
