Just watched the boys make their way across the field twards our house. The group has grown since I last saw them!! Five decent toms 4-6″, three others had good paintbrushes hanging, and a new bird I hadn’t noticed before had at least one extra hanging. Sure hope that he sticks around for a while.

…..and then their were 10…(sorry the pics arn’t better)

They never came back twards the house this weekend, but I did get a few pictures of them out in the field. They dont like those white ones very much, it a pretty noisey fight when they get too close to each other.

Have you seen any of them strutting yet? On the way to the Buck Party last weekend I saw 15 in one field and one was struting his stuff already!

Haven’t seen any struting here, these birds are in survival mode right now. I took the wheeler out the other day and only once broke through the crust of ice on the snow.
Hope they all make it through the winter.
