OK I was introduced to Turkey hunting a few years ago and I love it. Now I am at the turning point where I need to stop using my goose gun, a Browning Invector BPS Steel Special 10 gauge with 30” barrel and now a two inch turkey choke sticking out the end (Nelson calls it the wagon tongue) and get myself set-up with a shorter and much lighter turkey gun, although I will miss taking them at a quarter mile.

I know I do not want an automatic as I refuse to use one after several failed attempt to find one that does not need constant pampering. I also do not want to get to crazy with cost as I am buying calls, decoys, blinds, vests and all kinds of stuff already. What do some of you turkey veterans think I should take a look at?

remy 870 super mag turkey camo. comes with a 3.5″ chamber, full MO breakup camo dipped to help protect against rust, 23″ vented rib barrel with remchoke system. MSRP $560ish

if you want to go fancier, look to the benelli nova. these are the 2 best pump guns out there imho.

although, i dont think that all semi-autos need pampering. i only clean my sx2 once a year, and i heavily apply oil before and during the seasons (which is a no-no for most benelli owners). i havent had a problem yet. that thing shoots all loads with no problems.. if the slug barrel didnt cost as much as a brand new rifle, it would be my deer gun too!

Mossberg 500 black syn. stock. 28″ accu-chock with an Undertaker turkey choke. Winchester No. 5 three inch. 3.5 don’t get you much but extra recoil. Takes’em clean all the way out to 50 yds plus.
